I hate that the city & ST might fall prey to sunk cost fallacy & determine that no matter how the preferred alternatives look in terms of ridership and connectivity, we've done too much work to make any other choice. The draft EIS is supposed to give us info to make a choice.

Not sure what you're looking for, but I have liked my experiences at Hatch, down near Columbia City. Easy to get to by transit, open to all genders, some stylists who still mask, salon dog. All good things, IMO.

I am looking forward to it! But, you know, Town Hall really could be better served by transit.

Perhaps also default to the graphic, rather than the words, given that not all our visitors speak English -- and the graphic is clearer.

And I was called "old" yesterday for being skeptical of the amount of data being collected from cell phone location sharing and what companies are doing with it.

Today, I looked up numbers on my laptop, wrote them with pencil on paper, found my calculator & did math, then put said numbers into a spreadsheet and ran calculations. I ended up with three different answers. Health insurance is a giant scam.

Take this for the gift it is -- it at least implies our local public health is still tracking this! (And sadly, normal levels are >0. Always.)

Brick Park (or, you know, Occidental) was open yesterday. Hing Hay Park will be showing Friday. And I think Theatre Off Jackson is hosting a watch party (free) Sunday.

If you're a tea drinker, buy tea here. You won't regret it. If you're not a tea drinker, buy your tea drinker friends tea here. In my household, we've been trying to make a few more local swaps -- less mega grocery, more investing in our neighborhoods. So tea is a big one for us, and zero regrets.

I'm sad that it's been several months since we've gotten to spend time at the actual third space. I miss it! But I will say that I ordered a bunch of medicinals for surgery recovery, have found a new favorite that I now cannot live without (OKINAWA TONIC IS MAGIC) and your tea makes every day better

I heard that -- and wondered the same. The viewing screen in Occidental is still there. And I know there are some match watch parties still in CID.

We're accidentally* carless now, and the savings do add up quickly. *someone hit and run our street-parked 2017 prius, insurance totaled it, we have not replaced it. But also, we get paid enough to easily live within our means. By which I mean we aren't rent-burdened.

I know the owner of Zeitgeist is holding a few more jazz nights because it was so popular she wanted to give more musicians a chance. Free culture is one of the best reasons to live in a city.

YES! A few summers ago, the city Office of Arts and Culture did fund some summer public events in many/most neighborhoods -- and it was really great. More buskers, a few music events in parks, some open studio nights. People want this -- look at the crowds on PSQ's First Thursdays.

I sometimes get to be this person -- the one who might know a really random thing. I enjoy wearing that hat. But now I feel like I need to go understand thunderstorms. I do miss them, honestly. It is my least favorite part of Seattle weather.

I would love to know what a class on the most recent pandemic covered. I'm "just" an historian, but I read American Pandemic on the 1918 flu in 2019, and I do think it fundamentally changed my experience of COVID-19.

Me, too! I do wish, architecturally, that the front of the school faced the plaza. But the way it gets used for events is really awesome, and I love the food carts. It's nice to have a model of what we could do if, you know, community came before profits.

We also had wildfire smoke that week. It was pretty desperate in some of the older parts of the city with a lot of low-income elders. At least that area is dense enough to also have multiple cooling centers, I guess. These heat events are, to me, scarier than the worst blizzards.

When does the amount of tea I drink become an actual problem? Took a work break (at home today). Made two cups of tea, a jar of hibiscus tea for later (I like to mix it with my decaf black), a pitcher out on the porch for sun tea, and a 2nd steeping of hibiscus with a black Chinese tea. #TeaIsLife

Could we also make it okay and important for people to grieve their infertility? I wonder what my adopted experience might have been if my a-parents had acknowledged and processed their infertility. More so now with modern interventions.

I work near and travel through this intersection daily. This is not what I had hoped for. But I believe in what the Friends of Little Saigon is working on, so hopefully they can push the city to make this more effective than it sounds.

FIFA's security area is only allowing people to enter through the north entrance, so Stadium Station is going to mean a long walk for a lot of people.

Today was a lot, back to work after a month. So, cats
A black-and-cow cat sleeps against a wedge pillow, being snuggled by a much larger white and tabby cat who has thrown his arm across her. They are on a very colorful duvet.

This is not the Sound Transit Board Meeting I wanted to miss being in person for -- after 5 years of working on ST3 for South Downtown. These system decisions are so important! But, damnit, so is my health, I guess. Thanks, COVID, for more virtual access to public meetings.

Not sure what country you're in, but in most of the US they can't tell you what the procedure itself will cost. Even if they own the doc, facility, and insurance company.

It twisted my understanding of legal documentation, too. And influenced my lack of desire to ever certify my relationship with legal paperwork -- happily partnered and not married for more than a decade. I did take back the one name that was on my OBC when I got it, a takeback of truth.

I gather from timelines that Rite Aid was collapsing while they bought out Bartells, which seems incredibly stupid to me, but what do I know about business? Except these decisions often seem really bad/non-sensical.
