So so happy with the impact animation I drew for the players laser cannon, I never thought I'd get to a point where I was actually proud of art I'd created but this whole project is shaping up to be something really fun. First time for everything I guess :D #playdate #pixelart #indiegames #gamedev

Kinda fun story - I accidentally made a (terrible) autopilot for the space station interior. #playdate #gamedev #indiegames #pixelart

A little bit more of my space station interior, what do you think? #indiedev #playdate #pixelart #gamedev

I've been working hard adding a space station interior zone to Cranky Aliens, here are some WIP screenshots. If you think they're cool, consider liking and sharing? It helps little devs out so much. Thanks! #playdate #indiedev #pixelart

Ive had an insanely productive couple of weeks and Im pretty proud to be able to share more screenshots from my upcoming playdate game Cranky Aliens - I hope you like them! The finished game will have 3 stages, each with a unique player character and boss battle #playdate #gaming #noai #indiedev

I always forget that i'm supposed to actually share what I'm working on every one in a while... So here's a WIP from an upcoming @play.date title. I'll share more over the next few weeks with a hopeful release sometime before summer. #indiegames #gamedev #videogames #playdate #pixelart #monochrome
A sidescrolling game for the Playdate console. A tank is driving left to right across the screen in front of a scrolling city background. On the right side of the screen is a large alien mothership which is targeting the player. Other vehicles and platforms can be seen on screen

I'm so happy with how this is coming together now, the laser feels fantastic. It still needs more juice but I'd say this is about 50x as effective as the previous iteration, what do you think? #playdate #1bit #indiedev #gamedev #pixelart

Slow progress as Ive been in a bit of a slump but my little guy can shoot now. I hoped I could get away with not showing projectiles bc of the performance cost but I dont think this sells the effect. Anybody got any ideas for ways I can add juice without more sprites? #playdate #gamedev #indiedev

I've been doing some @play.date dev recently, it's a tonne of fun and really easy to get into. GIF from what I've been working on 👀 #playdate #indiegames

The first screenshot is from the failed jump, the second one is a success. It might still be the same problem I was describing but I reckon it happens on the platform before

Finally had a little more time to work on art for Forbidden Friend (my virtual pet game) - What do you think? #indiegames #virtualpet #pixelart

Tried my hand at some pixelart for a virtual pet game I'm working on. What do you think? The game is called "Forbidden Friend" and has you nurturing an eldritch god and its cult. This is one of the cultists #pixelart #indiegames

Some screens from a little #puzzlegame i've been working on, hope you like it! It'll be out on itch.io at the start of March. It's very relaxed, very colourful, and will hopefully be a nice break from the world. Let me know what you think! #indiegames #indiedev #itch #puzzlegames #colorful #relaxed
A 3d grid of white, green and red cubes. There is a flag in the cube to the bottom left of the screen, signalling the goal. The top left of the screen has a red waterfall pouring onto a red cube. The bottom right of the screen has a green waterfall pouring onto a green cube. The player character is (currently) a red cube with a smiling pixel face. The goal is blocked off by a raised section of 3 green cubesThe player character has now moved positions and sits underneath the green waterfall, dyeing itself green. The path the player took has been coloured 'red'. The green blocks around the goal have lowered because the players colour has changed. However, because of the path the player took, red blocks have risen and the player is trapped

Started "playing" Ropuka's Idle Island today and wow do I wish that were me If you're the kind of person who occasionally pines for a simple life then it's probably something you'll enjoy #indiegames

Split keyboard enthusiasts unite! I've been using a hand soldered Corne for years now, a real slog to get started but a lot of fun once you've got the layout down plus it looks cool as hell

I'm absolutely awful at RTS games and this is no exception, but... I can appreciate the love that went into this game. Having the train serve a major purpose in the story plus in and out of battle was a really solid design decision. Well worth your time if you like RTS. #indiegames #gamedev

Next up, Xenotilt This is the most intense game of pinball you will ever play. I don't have words to describe just how much is happening on the screen at any given time So much fun, absolutely worth it if you have fond memories of space cadets pinball (and hey, it's on sale!) #indiegames #gamedev

In the run up to xmas I want to mention a few games I've played this year that I thought were something special 'Turing Complete' first - you start from NAND and NOR gates and you work upwards, solving various problems until you've designed your own CPU. Crazy hard, worth it. #indiegames #gamedev

I'll go again! Here are a couple of stills from a game I made for a 48h jam You play as an ageing vampire and needs blood almost constantly to stay alive. Fortunately, you're also being pursued by many peasants who are more than happy to donate to a good cause #gamedev #indiegames

Coming in a little late to this... Here is a WIP for a card game I was making. There were 4 keys you fought for control of (4 cols). At the end of the round you held the correct key and were strong enough, you would break through a door in the center. Get past all 4 and you win #gamedev #indie
