Nikkei clawed back a third of that, closing down ~2700 or about 5% on the day. Kospi closed down a little less than 6%. But yeah, brutal. The recent US SPX wartime pattern has been to open down, go lower for an hour or two, then they pound it back so SPX recovers a good portion of the losses.
