Eeyup. If anything, I think design and architecture is where the new "floor" of software engineering lies. Still very much in the camp of taking the time to understand how something works before delegating the implementation.

That's...wow. Impressive stuff coming from the club. Wonder if the new Chase Sapphire lounge TBA has to do with them stepping up their game

AI is a natural next step for people who are used to using capital to solve problems that would otherwise be solved with their own labor

I think wearables are a cool piece of tech! They're already useful for accessibility outside of fursuiting. Having it tied to a company not so much, and esp tied to an AI product. Hoping more competition comes. And admittedly, it's not like this was a *major* problem in the first place.

That being said, it'll be a while before it's meaningfully useful. Ideally: - Connectors to the most common applications (i.e telegram, discord, etc.) for communication - None of the other stuff enabled by default - Privacy awareness with hard gates on access, local processing etc.

Now that they're announced I can chat a bit more RE: Meta Ray Ban Audio glasses, but really camera-less glasses in general I think a *niche* application would be better self-handling for folks in fullsuit or even more cumbersome partials, without the baggage of a camera

Side note, but pls report bugs if you can/care to by spamming the Oculus/Meta button 5 times The flow is not as intuitive as the other apps (I didn't know this myself until I started) but it's a good way to let folks know that the new menu sucks balls reliability-wise

I do think that if things survive it will normalize over time though. Maybe this is what it was like to own a $10k PoS clunker of a PC before it took off?

didn't provide anything beyond making 27b runnable. You can't hit 128 to even think about running the slightly beefier models unless you're willing to spend at least 4-5k on a Spark/Halo/Mac Studio. And tinkering with upgradability with x86 compatible parts? Forget it.

RE: original thread, I think the takeaway from my own misadventures into the space is just how disappointing consumer hardware changes have been in the past 5-10 years. I just did a refresh from my last build in 2016 and while there is a notable bump in performance, it realistically

Thanks for the rec! I actually read DwZ a few years back - I think it's interesting, but ultimately a matter of knowing yourself (in a similar vein to Housel's "The Art of Spending Money". I'm fairly content with things as they are now, though of course that could change.
