When colonization came to call in the US, many folks wrote about america as a pristine Eden whose forest were filled with delights and bounty. It has been a lot of fun developing my “cave art” style. In the context of my story, the most common cave art does not depict eyes, as it is considered a taboo to include them. It is thought to bind the soul of the creature depicted and thus, cause their spirit to be angry.

Just a reminder that keeping disabled people poor is a form of quiet genocide. Allowing or ignoring discrimination in jobs, housing, and society so they can’t make money, be sheltered, or exist is quiet genocide. Eliminating safety nets so folks can’t stay warm, fed, & housed is a quiet genocide.
