Hey, I live in Chile and I can say that there are some schools here that don't require uniforms. They're mandated for PUBLIC schools, but private ones have the freedom to decide. Just for extra clarification. 💙

I agree that this is dangerous misinformation, but I also feel it's a bit overkill to publicly shame someone who is clearly misinformed, who could also just be a dumb teenager. Also, they said to take it with a grain of salt, which to me doesn't sound like “lack of doubt” — as wrong as they are.

I wouldn't call being pushed to the verge of suicide being “privileged”. It's not free if it's at the cost of your mental wellbeing, that's just normalising bullying. I've had to work hard to sustain myself, and I've had very shitty jobs, but I'll take that over the high school abuse.

It's not really a privilege in my case. High school was the direct source of my depression, self-hatred, etc. The constant bullying fucked me up mentally, and I'm always relieved that it's over. I wish I had the privilege to think of high school as a good thing in any capacity.
