A bright new supernova in NGC 7331! I processed club-captured data of SN2026aaiv from BMO and shared the results, including marked and annotated views. astronomy716.blogspot.com/2026/09/quic... #Astronomy #Astrophotography #Space #SN2026aaiv #Supernova
A high‑resolution astrophotograph of the spiral galaxy NGC 7331 in Pegasus, showing its bright, golden core surrounded by sweeping bluish spiral arms rich with dust lanes and star‑forming regions. The supernova SN2026aaiv appears as a small, sharp point of light along one of the inner spiral arms, near the galaxy’s nucleus. The field is densely filled with foreground stars and several faint background galaxies of varying shapes and colors, giving a deep, three‑dimensional sense of cosmic scale against the dark sky.

Three nights, 10h47m of data, and one faint Wolf–Rayet bubble finally revealed. WR 134 in Cygnus was a tough but rewarding target from Eden, NY. Read the full post: astronomy716.blogspot.com/2026/09/wr-1... #Astronomy #Astrophotography #Space
HOO narrowband astrophoto of WR134 and surrounding nebulosity: a bright central star set in a rich starfield against dark space, with deep red and pink hydrogen-emission filaments threaded and bordered by vivid blue-green OIII arcs forming a crescent and shock-like structures; faint purple tones and numerous stars fill the field.

New blog post: Barnard’s E Nebula, a pair of dark nebulae in Aquila that form a striking “E” against the Milky Way. 🌌 astronomy716.blogspot.com/2026/08/barn... #Astrophotography #Astronomy #Space #BarnardsE #DarkNebula #MilkyWay
Wide-field astrophotograph of the Milky Way star field in Aquila showing Barnard’s dark nebulae. On the left, Barnard 142 and Barnard 143 form the distinctive “E” shape known as Barnard’s E, appearing as branching, opaque dust clouds silhouetted against a dense background of golden and bluish stars. On the right side of the frame, smaller dark nebulae Barnard 334, 336, and 337 appear as faint, irregular patches of obscuration amid the rich stellar backdrop. The image reveals the contrast between the luminous star field and the intricate dark lanes of interstellar dust.

✨ First light magic! The Witch’s Broom Nebula dances in teal and crimson — my FRA400’s debut capture reveals the delicate shockwaves of a long‑gone supernova. Dive into the full story on the blog: astronomy716.blogspot.com/2026/07/firs... #Astronomy #Astrophotography #VeilNebula #FirstLight #Space
A wide‑field astrophotograph of the Western Veil Nebula (NGC 6960), showing long, delicate filaments of glowing gas stretching diagonally across the frame. Bright, sharp strands of blue‑green oxygen emission weave through red hydrogen structures, forming the Witch’s Broom appearance. To the left, Fleming’s Triangular Wisp appears as a faint, angular patch of filamentary nebulosity with a distinct triangular shape. Numerous stars of varying brightness fill the background, creating a dense starfield behind the colorful supernova remnant.

Wide‑field astrophotograph of the Orion constellation showing the bright Orion Nebula (M42) and Running Man Nebula near the bottom of the frame, glowing in pink and purple emission. Higher in the field, the Horsehead Nebula appears as a dark silhouette against the red glow of IC 434, next to the fiery structure of the Flame Nebula (NGC 2024). The bright blue stars Alnitak and Alnilam, two of Orion’s Belt stars, stand out prominently among a dense background of stars, dust, and faint reflection nebulae.
