Weird hot take, there need to be more massive and unexplained sources of wonder in video games. The first time I saw a dragon in breath of the wild I literally dropped my jaw and stared. Later I found out that there's a min-maxed strategy for harvesting their parts, and the magic was gone.

What we say is viewed as less important than who's saying it. Whether or not we're correct matters less to an abuser than how justified they feel in rejecting it. Two people look up the same facts, one to learn the truth, the other to wield in whatever way helps them win an argument. Irreconcilable.

I share something I read or watched in a book or video. The person I'm talking to finds it implausible, so they argue with me as if I'm the author. I point out that if they had read or watched what I'd suggested, they'd have found the answer. It's implied I'm a poor communicator. Irreconcilable.

People learn that their confidence implies their infallibility. We see this everywhere. Individuals in our lives are so far downstream as to seem disconnected; that detached influence is the whole strategy. The very concept of logic has been so misused that it's developed a negative connotation.
