David Arnold on the music of #GoodOmens3 #GO3Spoilers

Maddie • GO3 Spoilers @DavidGArnold hey man can we talk about how you REPRISED The End? in season 3 during In The Garden because I would like to both shake you by the shoulders and kiss your forehead for it.

David GArnold @DavidGArnold
did you notice that Jesus music when he gives pizza out to everyone is a major / uplifting version of the music from his crucifixion in S1?? ( because it is ).
Ive tried to consolidate important music from S1 and 2 as it helps hold hands with the past . sacrifice / promises

Anyway friendly reminder that Good Omens going forward is being piloted by the Terry Pratchett estate, run by Rob Wilkins, no money from merch is going towards That Man, and Terry wrote 70% of the originally book

Celebrated our anniversary today by visiting the winery where we got married. ❤️ (It’s the inspiration for Aziraphale’s Heaven Hill from “Cayuga Blush,” by the way.) What a beautiful day.

Two wine glasses being clinked together with a vineyard and lake in the background.

Rows of grapevines in front of a partly-cloudy blue sky and trees.

That’s angel hair on the ends of those curls. 🥹 He could easily trim it off, but no. He’s hanging onto the memories of playing Aziraphale. (Anyone who suspected he wasn’t happy to return to the role, here’s proof you’re wrong. Buh bye.)

I’m gonna say this a little more loudly: there is no “exception” for GenAI usage if you support artists, writers, musicians, the planet, poor communities polluted by the generators, etc. None. Your “silly little uses” are still exploiting everyone and fucking everything up. Full stop. Thread.

Yeah, it is pretty heavy on the angst, so I totally understand! It does have a happy ending, FYI.

Over on Tumblr, IneffableClassics made this stunning cover for my #GoodOmens post-S2 story and I just had to share. That’s my Supreme Archangel Aziraphale, right there. You can read it here: archiveofourown.org/works/492675...

An image of a book cover in the style of Penguin Classics. It reads “asparkofgoodness” and then “The Exit to Our Old Street.” Above the words, there is a painting of a man from chin to waist. He’s wearing a grey suit, white dress shirt, and blue tie.

Honestly still so proud of this one. It’s from 2019, one of the first things I wrote when I got back into writing fanfiction. It’s got angst and badass!Aziraphale and T.S. Eliot references. What more could you want? archiveofourown.org/works/20062012

Ever a guardian, Aziraphale kept watch. Sliver-shafts of moonlight sliced ribbons across Crowley’s face. The emptiness of it unnerved the angel. Even in slumber, his expressive face had always told stories. Syllables shifted in the corners of his mouth; sentences found themselves punctuated with the movement of an eyebrow. Now, only still silence, even in sleep.

Heavenly forces decide the best way to get their once-dutiful soldier back is to slaughter his only real reason for rebellion. Their attempt leaves Crowley wounded and voiceless. Aziraphale tries his best to heal him and accept the soundlessness of this new verse of their song.

6. Sorta just answered this, but mostly one-shots with a couple multi-chapter ones recently.

010

sparks ✨ @asparkofgoodness.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

5. Most of my stories are little one-shot deals of a couple thousand words, and then S2 came out and I wrote “The Exit to our Old Street,” which ended up being over 60,000 words. “Cayuga Blush” came to 51,600 words, which is such a lovely number.

4. Past tense! I'm a bit old fashioned when it comes to writing. (I'm just now starting to consider using one space in between sentences instead of two lol.) Past tense feels more literary, more natural to me when I'm writing.

3. Third person all the way. It just feels more natural to me.

glad I did! I found the incredible @scullyphile.bsky.social who left me the kindest notes and smartest suggestions. They have a sharp eye, catching things I don't think I would have ever caught, and my story was absolutely better because of them. Now, they're stuck reading my writing forever. 😄

2. All my past stories are unbeta-ed, partly because I was nervous to open myself up to feedback and partly because I was more of a fandom lurker and didn't know where to even begin to find a beta. I took a chance when I started writing "Cayuga Blush," since it was my first AU, and wow, I am so +

1. Yes, I usually have music playing quietly in the background. When writing Good Omens stories, I'm either listening to my soundtrack albums or my playlist of ineffable songs. I listened to "Best Guess" by Lucy Dacus and "True Blue" by boygenius a lot as I was finishing "Cayuga Blush."
