A fugly little model I've done Little 0-4-0st No.1563: The Hodbarrow Avonside. This is built from a Oakhill Works SS with some modifications to the base to make it larger. I've spent a while bashing it, and it still needs some work, but I'm happy with it for the time

The KING of Ladysmith Almost completed my model of Barclay 1448 "King" in its 1972-76 Ladysmith Washery condition. Built from a Hattons/Accurascale 'Carbon', with new buffers, an RT models giesl, W4 peckett cab sides and new buffer discs

I take the photo as usual, then stick some filters on it to make them look older. Then I edit the photo onto a blank page, waffle some text next to it in the style of a book. Finally I rotate the photo horizontally and vertically to make it look like it's a photo of a book page taken at an angle

From my experience, greasing fishplates. With a team, it's not so bad, but on your own or only 2-3 people it can get a bit tedious Worse when it's hot and you've got hundreds of midges buzzing around you Plus, black jack grease is a sticky, dirty and annoying

This is just the halfway point of my modelling of 1448 King I'm probably just gonna leave her like this until I get all the parts to finish King

The yellow one was cheaper cus it had a dummy chassis That's since been taken out and been replaced by a heavily modified Kato chassis Also, here's the rest of my haul:

The second is based on this crossing at Whitehaven Harbour It's designed to fit an 0-4-0 and a single wagon The crossing signs were printed out and mounted onto card

The first is based upon the yard throat of Ladysmith This one's designed specifically to be able to fit an austerity (You can see in the 2nd photo I haven't finished up cleaning the rear yet)

Last year, I built this little display pad for Askham Hall Recently I found it again so I've decided to make a few more The 2 new display pads are the Ladysmith Washery throat and a Whitehaven Harbour crossing

Lorewise, I explain his design as an Andrew Barclay 0-6-0t rebuilt by Bagnall into a saddletank, explaining why it looks like a mix between a Barclay and a Bagnall I'm sure it's not a proper explanation, but it's the best I could come up with, other than it being a preservation newbuild.

Ah, Ha, Ha, Ha, Stayin' Alive, Stayin' Alive! That’s right folks, several of our upcoming loco projects will be fitted with a stay-alive capacitor (such as the SECR O1 and Stirling Single). We have even managed to squeeze one into our upcoming AB Fireless.

Probably won't update this again until this guys done, but I've just made his running board a tad less wide I much prefer this look. He feels more aesthetically Drewry now Contemplating giving him letter or numbering of some kind just to make him stand out more

No clue actually It was just in a tray of odd bits at a model train show, and it doesn't have any branding on it It's certainly kit built, though

All I've got left to do is to clean up the paint a bit, give it link couplings, add an exhaust(?) and either fill in the holes on the side of the bonnet or give it handrails Might give it a few accessories like a crew or some running board items

I was going to keep it orange, but the orange was the actual colour of the plastic and it was a bit scuffed in areas, so it needed a full repaint. Green was the next best colour

Picturing this guy as a privately owned harbour shunter or something I don't plan on giving it a name, instead just keeping it a generic industrial

Fuming that I didn't do a before picture, cause the glowup here is insane Guy came with a bright orange body, grey everywhere else and no chassis He's not quite done, but I'm rather happy with the result so far
