one of the evil apps made me aware that there's an ALTERNATE ENDING in the US version of the 2005 pride and prejudice movie and if you need (very cheesy) closure where they FINALLY kiss then you should watch it #prideandprejudice #pp2005

I then watched sense and sensibility 1995 and am looking forward to reading the book! unlike after the 2022 persuation film, which kinda sucked. so much that I don't actually want to continue reading the book. but it is said to be the best story of them all, so I might need to give it a try

The pride and prejudice movie is actually pretty great, but I find its Darcy is lacking emotion. If you want to feel more, I recommend watching the second half of the 1995 series, because the way he looks at Elizabeth is !!!!!!!!!!!!! But the resolving of their yearning could have hit harder tbh 😫

after having to watch pride and prejudice in german last week and cringing a little over the translation, but realizing this could have been PERFECT, I.. - 've read the entire thing in english - watched the 1995 bbc series (1,5 times) - rewatched the movie in english I think I'm going MAD!!!!

love that you have the most interesting takes on design AND mtg, BUT I think that'd be a mid card at best. 5 mana and random discard is too expensive to gain a few tokens, and 5 mana and free tokens is too expensive to have an opponent discard a card at random

another thing I just read: capitalism relies on people having children not only because they need workers for their infinite growth, but also because parents are easy to control. Parents can't afford to take risks and challenge the system in fear of repercussions.

As for what fueled the right is the same thing: Media reproducing far-right rhetorics until many people believed them. Other parties jumping on their train to appeal to the voter's "beliefs", again fueling the right. The Left party did the exact opposite, sticked to their own topics, and ✨doubled✨.

No, anti-green feeling was MADE by mayor news outlets who have run a literal campaign against the Green party and Robert #Habeck personally. The BILD alone has published HUNDREDS of articles attacking him and his politics. All owned by the same company with close political or lobbyist ties.

Next time someone tells me I'm for sure skinnier than last time they saw me, I'll show them my Oreo Shake, Cannoli & Macarons breakfast
The background shows the interior of a car. A woman photographs her breakfast on her lap - a brown lunchbag, on it a vanilla cannoli. She holds an oreo milkshake in her left hand. It's a beautiful day.

Whenever a man shows you charts and graphs about how people with kids are happier than people without kids, ask him to show you the same data sliced by gender. Even if that man is me!🙂 Because considering men / women, and people with/without kids, the happiest demographics, is "women without kids"

I once was dressed like an elf, coming back from the Comic Con Ball. I asked my partner if it was obvious I was wearing a costume, or if people thought I was the craziest person on the train. A guy walked by and gave me a business card. It said "You are amazing. Never think otherwise." 😭

The next time someone calls a reporter "biased" or an activist — especially someone who is a woman, a person of color, LGBTQ+, an immigrant, and/or disabled — ask them to articulate the difference between bias and expertise: longreads.com/2018/03/29/i...
Then she asked me a question I hadn’t considered before. What is the difference between a bias and expertise?

In a previous newsroom she worked in, there were a few people who had pilots’ licenses. When a plane crash happened, those people were looked to as experts. Similarly, newsrooms seek to hire people with military experience, seeing that as expertise as opposed to bias. Many news outlets sent reporters to cover Hurricane Maria who were either Puerto Rican or had lived in Puerto Rico. Ho believes she’s a better business reporter because she worked in banking for three and a half years.

So why do we consider some lived experiences — being a woman, being a person of color, being queer, having had an abortion — biases, and others expertise?

going to continue this as a goodnews kinda thing: last week, two older women complimented my tote bag because it has kittens on it. it gives vintage sofa fabric vibes and we really had our moment. then some guy went out of his way to tell me my shoe was untied. really nice people day that day
