Speaking of Perfect Bird Time... We put a bird feeder up about a week ago and now the birds are starting to show. We even got a few hummingbirds!
Two birds (a mourning dove below and a finch above, I believe) perched near a copper bird feeder on a balcony. One is filled with seeds, the other with sugar water.

Revisiting Lucky Daye's "Painted" album on a proper speaker system instead of headphones... He's so underrated.

I lifted weights and did some spinning today. I feel so mellow that I saw this little guy and didn't freak out. Kinda cute. He just rested for a bit and watched me cautiously. (Labeled it Graphic because some folks don't like spiders, but maybe there's a more specific labeler than the default?)
The bold jumper spider has fuzzy legs with black and white stripes, beady black eyes, and green mandibles. He is resting on the side of a bannister. A detailed search result for the spider.

"The bold jumper (Phidippus audax) is a common, fuzzy, black jumping spider in North America, known for its excellent vision, jerky movements, and ability to leap great distances to hunt prey. It's characterized by a black body, often with white, orange, or yellow spots on the abdomen, and metallic green or blue chelicerae (fangs). Despite their "bold" name, they are harmless to humans, curious, and often seen in gardens, on windowsills, and tree trunks.”

They wrote the hell out of this Season 7 intro for Marvel Rivals. "Well, with love, determination, and a little luck, anyone can become the heart of their city." Message!
Marvel Rivals
The Heart of the City

When shadows from tomorrow use technology to silence ordinary people, Felicia's reckless defiance and Ami's unwavering determination might be something beyond calculation or prediction: the unquantifiable and ever-beating "Heart of the City."

This impulsive heart, pulsing through every neighborhood, every storefront, every stoop, and sidewalk in New York, is what lets the city stand tall after countless crises. It's not just the super heroes who save it; it's the everyday people of the city that saves their home.

So, as the world keeps changing around you and the weight of the future may feel unavoidable, you may ask yourself how you can save your community?

Well, with love, determination, and a little luck, anyone can become the heart of their city.

People are zooming in on Karp's Blackness because it sensationalizes him, but his being biracial, Black AND Jewish, is important context. Mixed babies will not save the world simply by being born. Children born of fetishization are objectified and that harm gets passed to everybody else eventually.
A snippet from the article.

The son of a white Jewish father and a Black mother, Karp's identity has been a core throughline in his life and career. As a child, Karp was bullied at school, contributing to a sense of fear and personal instability.

"You're a racially amorphous, far-left Jewish kid who's also dyslexic — would you not come up with the idea that you're fucked?" Karp says to Steinberger. In this context, Karp's sense of identity was hopelessly complicated and a potential social liabilityIn the years since, Karp has embraced his Jewishness while expressing reluctance to claim his Black identity. The story of his parents' relationship became for him a kind of cautionary tale of how identity politics run amok.

"My father wanted to marry a Black woman," says Ben Karp, Alex's brother. "Dating Leah was a powerful way of signaling his progressivism," Steinberger notes. Leah Jaynes liked that Bob Karp was Jewish, and Karp liked that she was Black. They eventually divorced, after which Bob Karp remarried and adopted biracial children. Bob's new family didn't sit well with his sons. "Alex's realization, years later, that racial and ethnic identity had been foundational to his parents' relationship was part of the reason he developed a visceral dislike of identity politics," writes Steinberger. "He felt as if he had been the product of virtue signaling, and it bothered him."

1Password is increasing their prices. One of their rationales is "AI-powered item naming." JavaScript can fetch the name of a webpage for free. AI is an additional liability. Suddenly the weird bugs with Prism JS last month make a lot of sense. I'll be searching for alternatives. How's BitWarden?
<1Password Logo>

Hi <User Name>,

Since 2005, 1Password has been on a mission to make security simple, reliable, and accessible for everyone. As the way people work and live online has evolved, so has 1Password.

More recently, we’ve invested significantly in new features that make 1Password even more powerful and effortless to use, helping protect what matters most to you, including:

Automatic saving of logins and payment details
Enhanced Watchtower alerts
Faster, more secure device setup
AI-powered item naming
Expanded recovery options
Proactive phishing prevention
While 1Password has grown substantially in value and capability, our pricing has remained largely unchanged for many years. To continue investing in innovation and the world-class security you expect, we’re updating pricing for Family plans, starting March 27, 2026.

Current vs New Pricing:

Current price: $59.88 USD / year
New price: $71.88 USD / year

The new price will take effect at your next renewal, provided it’s on or after March 27, 2026. Those occurring prior to March 27, 2026, will continue at the current pricing until your next renewal.

If you have any questions, please reach out to support by replying to this email. We’re deeply grateful for your continued trust and support.

Thank you,
The 1Password Team

It's between Foundation and One Piece right now. I watch a bit of One Piece every day, but I'm actively pacing myself (hahaha) with Foundation to savor it. Binging is great for animation, but with beefier plot lines, I watch shows with bigger pauses.

I love a good dialog, but non-consensual debate? Not worth it. When I get the urge to chime into a heated "conversation" or obvious bait, I just remember this XKCD comic. Correcting someone loud and wrong on the internet is not a duty we have to fulfill. Free yourself. xkcd.com/386/
Drawn in a stick figure style, a person is seated at a desktop computer, feverishly typing.

Their companion, offscreen in another room asks, "Are you coming to bed?"

"I can't. This is important."

"What?"

I have a box of stickers and decided it's time I started using them. Some of them are from conferences or events I went to over 10 years ago. 🥴
A turquoise Bullet Journal has 5 stickers:

An upturned palm with glyphs related to coding reads: "Idle hands build nothing."

The flag of the Straw Hats pirates from One Piece.

The Bullet ⚡ Journal logo is embossed on the cover.

A sun shaped sticker reads: "Get some sun and fresh air."

A sticker of Thanatos, god of death, from Hades, holding his scythe and flirting amongst butterflies.

The Straw Hat pirates at or around the Alabasta arc featuring: Karoo the duck, Zoro, Luffy, Nami, Vivi, Sanji, Usopo, and a seagull for some reason. On the back a sticker stylized like an 80s-90s bowling alley reads: Pump up the Jam, and links to Jamstack.org.

The Leuchtturm1917 logo is debossed at the bottom.
