Sometimes my cat will lay on my phone/remote and I'll be moving everything around her to look for it before disturbing her (just in case she isn't on it). And the moment I feel it poking out from under her belly and take it, she'll act all disturbed and move. Like, girl, you stole *my* shit

People who think it's deception and in line with SA to not disclose being trans before going on a DATE with someone genuinely need to have their heads checked for brain worms

At some point you have to break out of your comfort zone and affirmatively argue *for* trans women's rights and inclusion, because otherwise all you are actually doing is arguing for discrimination with a lower false positive rate

"I understand why it feels that way. But non-black people don't all get access to the same spaces. White women are excluded from black women spaces on the same basis. The code applies consistently based on race, not as a way of singling black people out" Just some food for thought for you

I understand the point you're trying to make - but providing us with alternatives and forcing us into those alternatives while barring us from the spaces every non-trans person gets to use is still dehumanizing. It's othering. It's segregation just with a bunch of legal fluff to make it sound okay

Ashe @ashegard.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
And bathroom bills *specifically* designed to target trans people and force us into spaces we are less safe in and/or don't fit in with is not dehumanizing?

I'm tired of placating to ignorant people's transphobic feelings - they refuse to engage in empathy/logical reasoning We don't owe shit to cis people - we deserve to live in this society as freely as everyone else. Our beautiful existence is not contingent on their feelings - they can shove it 🪿🏳️‍⚧️

The only thing that makes a trans person's life uniquely difficult is transphobia The only thing that uniquely ruins our mental health is transphobia The idea our struggles are innate to being trans and not because society blocks us from and punishes us for being ourselves is nonsense

I'm trying to educate people so they stop harming my community. I'm not an activist, just a trans person who wants what is best for us and for folks to stop attacking our rights. Sorry for not catching cues or whatever.. I hope you have the day you deserve

An opinion article and a few leaked emails related to one org doesn't discredit an entire body of medical evidence. A single Google search for "GAC regret rate" will show you a mountain of evidence, numerous peer reviewed studies and reviews time and time again showing ridiculously low regret rates

willing to do that. I've pointed out the flaws in your logic pertaining to our healthcare - but you don't want to engage with it. So like, what am I supposed to believe here? I'm not calling you a Nazi - but you *are* deliberately avoiding challenging your own beliefs in light of the evidence

The first 2 minutes of reading the Wikipedia page for "transgender health care" will fill you in on the fact that gender affirming care has its roots going back 100 years ago, in Germany, before the Nazis cracked down and burned all the research. I'm just trying to inform you on information that

It's like people have these moderate (but still wrong) view on trans issues, so they support whatever person is touting that position at the time, but then don't care to do 3 minutes of research into the person they're supporting's end goal of eradicating trans people from society. Very cooooooool

latching onto rhetoric born from fear mongering and misunderstanding. There is no hidden agenda or nefarious shadow groups trying to turn kids trans - all of us figure ourselves out at different times in our lives, and we just want to be free to live them authentically

want to be put in the position of having to make this kind of decision for your kid - unfortunately, some parents have to, and you're advocating to take their choice away to do what they feel is best for their child. The government should stay out of parent's healthcare decisions 13/13

with for the rest of their lives just to protect the hypothetical 3% of cis kids who made the wrong decision for themselves. We aren't trying to push anything onto anyone, just to be allowed access to this kind of care for when it's needed. I also see in your last comment that you don't 12/x

part in whether you mean to or not. I am more than happy to go into all of the detail you need on these issues so you can better understand them, but I definitely don't agree that we should force 97% of this population to go through irreversible changes to their body they'll have to live 11/x

so I want to make you aware in case you weren't - our healthcare, even for adults, is also on the line. The HF (P2025 people) have openly stated they want to outlaw it for everyone and blames it for making us school shooters. This is an honest to God social eradication campaign you're taking 10/x

giving just aren't substantive enough to warrant harming 97% of this group of people. No one on "our side" wants anyone to be pushed into transitioning or doing anything they don't want to do - that's why we support these measures that ensure we minimize the amount of harm done (to those who 8/x

medical GAC under the current system do not regret it, and by denying it to the 97% of those who need it, you are forcing them through a puberty that will make irreversible changes to their body they will have to live with for the rest of their lives. I am one of those people, and I will 6/x

and I really need to be up front and level with you here rn - please don't take this as an attack, but I need it to be heard loud and clear - you are fear mongering. You are saying "what if the org that sets the standards is corrupt" (despite the peer reviewed data showing time and time again 3/x

disagree on is the framing of your position. Kids *already* rarely receive gender affirming surgeries, but even when they are, they are deemed medically necessary by medical professionals, follow the current standards of care which again are quite conservative, yet here you are fear mongering, 2/x
120
Ashe @ashegard.bsky.social · 14/04/2026
So we don't even entirely disagree, here. Social transition is just one aspect of GAC (and isn't a euphanism - it just describes the care model being employed), and is *always* the first route explored with minors before they have access to any kind of medical transition care What we do 1/13

continue talking in good faith for as long as we both can, even DM me if you'd like/prefer. I just want what's best for everyone, and I can promise that following rhetoric from folks like JKR is not what's best for *anyone*, especially for those of us being targeted and effected by it 7/7

Ashe @ashegard.bsky.social · 14/04/2026
So I'm extending my olive branch out to you here, Dave. This topic is extremely dear to me because I find it so important people understand what goes into trans people's healthcare and what being trans even is all about before jumping to conclusions like you've been making. I'm here to 6/x
120
Ashe @ashegard.bsky.social · 14/04/2026
transition is right for them, and the results overwhelmingly prove effective time and time again, I don't know how you can say that's not what the PBs are "meant" to be used for. They are quite literally meant to block puberty to treat a condition, and in this use case, they do that *very* well 5/x
110
Ashe @ashegard.bsky.social · 14/04/2026
are designed to ensure the path to medical GAC is the right path for them, and we can see that it works because the regret rate is *extremely* low for those who receive it So, if the intention is to block puberty to give more time for the minor and parents/doctors to be absolutely sure 4/x
110
Ashe @ashegard.bsky.social · 14/04/2026
least 6 months before being given PBs to then give them even more time (usually 1-2 years) to be more sure they remain insistent and persistent in their gender identity before moving onto HRT as an option, then you can't say they're confused without backing that up. The mechanisms in place 3/x

and resorting to attacking each other, but you really haven't engaged with any of my tests of your logic here. If you can acknowledge that trans people do exist, and that minors who are prescribed any form of medical GAC first have to be insistent and persistent in their gender identity for at 2/x

Ashe @ashegard.bsky.social · 14/04/2026
I see you blocked the other person, which is your choice. While I am trying to be reasonable and reach you in as respectful a way I can here, I also agree with him and his frustrations on almost every level. We don't need to get into all of it, I don't think it's productive jumping to extremes 1/x

Imagine a study that found kids with ADHD have more visits to doctors than kids without ADHD — and used that finding to suggest ADHD treatment doesn't work. That's the standard of evidence the anti-trans braintrust is willing to accept.

I just want my community to be left alone and to have access to the healthcare that improves our lives, Dave. Like, damn. Yes the terms get used a lot but you have to understand this level of blatant disinformation being used to leverage social eradication of an entire minority group IS Nazi shit

Ashe @ashegard.bsky.social · 13/04/2026
Their intended purpose is to block puberty.. considered largely safe and effective, and again they're used conservatively, after 6 months of mental health counseling, as a stop gap compromise before HRT to be *sure* the kid is insistent and persistent in their gender identity (as in, *not* confused)

Yep. It's horrific to think that people out there legitimately think that torturing their trans kid by denying access to potentially very beneficial meds just because they have bought into the lies that our healthcare isn't real/effective (when it literally is as the data shows time and time again)

You people are so infuriating. You act all high and mighty like you just mean well and have concerns but then discount everything trans people say help us along with the evidence that proves it just because you're too ignorant to face your own biases. Like, sorry, I doubt your genuineness atp
