I don't believe in the narrative of a tough economic environment when companies can still afford redirecting interest in their products to communications nirvana.

Israeli airstrikes continue to hit #Gaza every day, killing and injuring people across the Strip. In the last 24 hours, our teams have treated 11 people, including five children, wounded by airstrikes.

The SPD should rather reflect on their own role in the rise of AfD. Not just ex-chancellor Scholz but also the present lot with its dusty playbook. Time to get real and think from scratch. Anything less means handing the country to the far right.

Arved Gintenreiter @arvedgintenreiter.com · 09/09/2026
Dear @politico.eu, this is what the AfD has been telling us for years all along; no surprise here. This is what their voters want. The story is: why is this news to Merz (and you)? The AfD might even use the clip of Merz's "sharp attacks" and your excited reporting in their propaganda. Losing hope.

Still hearing the story of a "protest vote" in Saxony-Anhalt. I disagree. If you want to protest you don't vote for a Nazi party unless far right narratives have become somehow acceptable. And if it was a protest, why not far left, Greens or whatsoever, why Nazis?

Arved Gintenreiter @arvedgintenreiter.com · 08/09/2026
If true, Merz not having a plan for this election outcome would make him untenable as chancellor. You cannot govern a country if you are taken by surprise by the most obvious reality. Polls indicated the AfD result for months. I would expect several scenarios and options to have been prepared.

"How to keep them from power" has failed. Politics as a service to improve people's lives every single day might work. For the people, not against a party. People must see, hear, feel politics working in their direction. They will have a rude awakening with the AfD, though, once reality settles in.

US Americans, especially the political class, seem not to be aware of how much ridicule in disbelief is made of the USA outside its borders, not for what Trump does but for the total failure of checks and balances. The supposedly supreme system failed miserably for all to see. That's the damage.

I am not a defense expert, but the best counter to the attacks on Germany and other EU countries might not be direct retaliation. Making sure by all means that Ukraine wins the war against Russia in the shortest of times would likely solve many other problems in an instant.

Economics, efficiency and pragmatism as main guiding principles have led us to the dwindling state of the world we live in. While each are valid fields of reasoning, they cannot replace a robust framework of ethics and values aimed at making life better for the people. Neither locally, nor globally.

Legacy automakers might have to decide: prioritize building ICE cars for the US market (and some nostalgists), or get real with taking on the EV competition from China to be able to sell to the rest of the world. It's not aliens with superpowers working in Chinese factories. It's humans and robots.

While we would have happily welcomed Iceland to the inner circle of the club, this result reflects exactly what the tiered system is for. Citizens get to decide democratically what level of benefits and obligations coming with EU membership they see fit for themselves. It's a choice.

Migration can only be weaponized as long as the EU continues to cultivate its migration hysteria. Let's go uncomfortable, think outside the box, very likely there is a better approach than fear mongering and building a modern fortress dividing us and them.

Big powers are losing their wars of aggression. Putin in Ukraine, Trump in Iran - and Xi in China has certainly taken note that a Taiwan adventure might end alike. New technologies are not just changing warfare but also the balance of power between the small and the big. A better order might emerge.

The easiest way to flip the finger on the fossil fuel industry is to boycott. It's in our hands. Have a roof? Go solar. Go EV or better car-free. Avoid plastics, save energy. Be vocal, with family, friends, and in public. Politicians are where their constituencies are. They want to win elections.

NATO might be dead already, as it is based on trust, on the credible threat that all members stand up for each other when attacked. While Europe pays lip service to buy time, a new values based alliance will take shape - and the security relationship with the US could turn purely transactional.

If for whatever reason fossil fuel supply were to stop forever tomorrow humanity would'nt cease to exist but find a non-fossil workaround. Costly. Painful. A challenge of epic dimensions. But we would figure it out, because we'd have to. Sticking to fossil fuels and the pains attached is a choice.
