Montgomery County showed up for Will Jawando yesterday — and I know as our next County Executive, he’ll show up for us. It was great seeing Will healthy and back at work. He’s a tireless champion for people too often overlooked, and I’m excited to see what he’ll deliver for Montgomery County.

This week, we sent off brave soldiers of Maryland’s 175th Infantry Battalion as they deploy in support of the Joint Task Force. To every soldier answering the call to serve, & every family making sacrifices: Maryland is proud & grateful for you, & we look forward to welcoming you home safely.

Frederick showed up for April! Congresswoman April McClain Delaney works every day to make sure Western Maryland has a strong voice in Congress. Good to see so many people come out ready to get to work. With Election Day getting closer, every conversation matters.

Thank you to the Montgomery County Women's Democratic Club for hosting a terrific Fall Membership Kickoff. There’s a lot at stake in the weeks ahead — and this is the time to turn our energy into action. Knock doors. Make calls. Talk to your neighbors. Volunteer.

When I first ran for office, I didn’t have a political network. I wasn’t connected. I didn’t know the right people. I’ve never forgotten what that felt like. Because who you know should never determine whether your voice is heard. That’s why I serve.

Before highways connected Frederick and Hagerstown, trolleys did. 🚋 My travels across Maryland brought me to Myersville, once a stop along the Hagerstown & Frederick Railway. That history rolls on with the Myersville Music & Trolley Festival, coming up on October 17. tinyurl.com/trolleymusic...

I had the honor of serving with Delegate Carolyn Howard on the House Ways & Means Committee. She was always so pleasant and kind, and she was a mentor and a friend to me. Rest In Peace, Delegate.

Snallygaster ice cream? What’s that? I found out during a stop at South Mountain Creamery , a working dairy farm in Middletown. A great way to experience a bit of Frederick County’s agricultural community—one scoop at a time.

With Mayor Morrissey and the people of University Park, we remembered the nearly 2,977 people lost on September 11 and the 5 members of their community who never came home. We remember not simply to look back, but to give memory purpose through how we move forward.

In one of our darkest moments, we saw the power of coming together. Neighbors helped neighbors. Strangers showed up for one another. Communities found strength in service. Twenty-five years later, we honor those we lost by continuing to show up for one another. May we never forget
