Due to regularly feeling like I'm annoying my non-writing friends by posting a bunch of writing stuff here, I've created a writing-only account (arumiwrites.bsky.social). Feel free to follow me over there if you're into unhinged writing memes & updates about my #SFF books! 👍

The unfortunate thing about having a brain that doesn't quit is that I keep coming up with new cool SFF book concepts and can't choose which one to tackle next. 👀

Sometimes old-internet seems like a fever dream. Did it ever exist? Were LiveJournal and VampireFreaks and Newgrounds even real??

Drafting up this next scene for the cyberpunk book, and wondering if I've overdone it on the lore & worldbuilding. I tried to explain the plot to someone (who isn't a SFF fan) irl, and they just stared blankly at me for 15 minutes. 😅

It's day 12 of #CampRevPit, #CRPLunaMoths! It almost seems like it's gone so fast?! Today's cabin prompt: How did you decide on your MC's name? (If you sent your feedback swap but haven't gotten any back, ping me and I'll get someone for you to swap with!)

We're over halfway through the second week of #CampRevPit, #CRPLunaMoths! (Storm knocked out my power so I missed a day) 😆 Today's cabin prompt -- what's the next stage for your project after camp? More revisions, querying, self-pub, sharing with friends? Or will you let it rest?

Happy 2nd week of #CampRevPit, #CRPLunaMoths! Today's question: What's your biggest obstacle to getting time to write? Is it the allure of doomscrolling, your adorable kid/cat/partner, a busy job? Or your own brain? (hi, it me)

Happy Day 6 of #CampRevPit, #CRPlunamoths! All critique match emails should have gone out (for those that opted in). Tomorrow I’ll be running some sprints from 9-10pm, feel free to join in! ❤️ Today’s prompt: what’s one thing (or person) your MC can’t live without?

Happy Day 5 of #CampRevPit, #CRPLunaMoths! If you're like me, you use music a lot (either to inspire, or for vibes while writing/editing). What's one song or playlist that best represents your book or MC? (don't forget to use our cabin hashtag in your replies so it shows up in our feed!)

Happy timezone #CRPLunaMoths, and happy Day 1 of #CampRevPit! Our cabin’s #CampKickoff question: what inspired the book you’re working on? Was it a song, a scene, a vibe, a trope? Quote this post with your reply, and be sure to use our hashtag so it shows up in our feed!

Hey all my regular followers here -- just a heads up that I'm a camp counselor for @reviseresub.bsky.social's #CampRevPit. As I only have one account, you may see some posts, and if they become too much, feel free to mute the #CRPlunamoths tag, since that's what I'll be using. Love you all <3

We did it. We put words together and formed a novel. We edited and revised. Then we did the hardest part of all: we shared our words. From the posts and #10queries your work is amazing and we should be proud. No matter what happens, keep being awesome storytellers. #revpitwaiting #revpit

This! I was so sad the first 2 years I did #RevPit, but was able to refocus on the great things that came out of it. My online writing family is *huge* now! I make huge to-do lists because my brain can be a potato, & next week’s list legit includes “process post-RevPit sads”. I’m ahead this year 😆

Rewrite of ATPC (cyberpunk book) is officially over halfway done! Going to try and add another 5-10k over the weekend. I’m waiting on several poetry subs, a nonfiction essay sub, #RevPit results on Monday, and am running a drafting event in one of my writing Discords. And sleep, at some point. 😅

So... fun fact. I realized this morning that my silverware drawer is currently empty. No forks, spoons... nothing. Dishwasher is also empty. I have two toddlers. I think this might be related. #parenting #toddlers #help

ATPC is inspired by a lot of nostalgia. There are TRON neon tracer bikes, virtual pets, tech cannibalized from Star Trek, skyrail skateboarding, Matrix-like villains, Terminator cybernetic enhancements. It's a love letter to the anime, games and media I grew up with. #WritingCommunity #amwriting

Fitting that #NaNoWriMo blames "community vitriol" for shutting down, not: * Refusing to investigate a mod grooming minors * Deleting posts about other incidents of grooming * Allowing said mod continued access to minors * Calling being anti-AI classist/ableist Yep, totally the community's fault.
