Don't think I've ever shared this project I was working on in 2020: a retro-inspired MCU-powered keyboard device. A mix of too much work on sw and the keyboard not being so good led to it fizzing out.

Got @slint working on the ESP32-H2, displaying on a 1-bit RLCD and using buttons as key input, cause why not.

5 years ago, I was playing around with an idea of a keycap with a display embedded in it, and now you can just get them off the shelf!

A bunch of parts on a desk, 3d printed keycap base with a hole for a tiny OLED and its flex cable, transparent keycaps, one assembled key with the base, oled, and keycap on top, flex cable inserted into a PCB.

A PCB with a 3x2 matrix of keys with OLED in the keycap, each oled is showing a frame with text "Display 1" through "Display 6". The displays are driven by a Feather board, some jumper wires connected between the board and the Feather.

The new Design Rule Editor in @kicad nightly is looking good 😍

Saw this Öresund bridge toll collection tag (BroBizz) in the building dumpster, so of course I had to take it apart! What RF sorcery is this 🧙

A photo of two pieces of gray plastic, one has a piezo speaker in it, the other one has a square piece of copper ultrasonically welded inside. Under them is a PCB with one QFN chip, a crystal oscillator, and a few passives. There is also a large area with exposed copper and various traces and shapes in copper with more passives incorporated, clearly an antenna of some sort.

PCB Design Blocks just got merged into @kicad nightly, they can be linked together with Schematic Design Blocks. It's shaping up to be another great release! forum.kicad.info/t/post-v9-new-feat…

KiCad schematic and pcb editors side by side, the left side has a schematic editor with a schematic design block with a title header and a wired up LDO block. The right side has a pcb design block with a title header and the components but not placed or routed yet.

Same as before but now the PCB editor is showing a context menu of the pcb design block with option to Apply Design Block Layout which will arrange the components and route them as saved in the block.

Designed a simple frame for the #KeebDeck Basic so it's a bit more dust-proof :) Will put it on Printables a bit later.

It's no news that Google Search constantly changes the order of "tabs" based on what it thinks is most relevant (which is really annoying and I hate it), but I think this is the farthest I've ever seen "Images" moved! 😵‍💫

Google Search results with the Images being the 6th "tab" after All, Videos, Short Videos, Forums, and News.
