I don't enjoy promoting my photography, but doing so once in a while is ok, I guess. I just published my 4th annual portfolio of my photographic work, and it's now on Blurb to purchase, if you're so inclined. Yes, onsies are the best! No skin marks too!

I try to be in at least short sleeves to have a better understanding of how cold they might be...but we've also discussed that if they are going to go the extra mile to get the shot that I should wear all the jackets to make sure all my focus is on getting the shot!

New art from this years trip to CA! My favorite light is bounced light from the ocean into the shadows like this. Model: shannon.macc (Ig) #fineart #fineartnude #artnude #nudeinnature #LAmodel

Of course this is a very tough call! It would depend a bit on the other shots already selected, but on its own I would pick 7. it has that dramatic pop that I think catches eyes from a distance.

Friends of models you've shot with (and who have posted your work) are the best bet for finding new faces. Feels like I'm always talking to 20 people about *maybe* shooting... some months it turns in to none and some months its 6 shoots in a week. I try not to get too high or low on any one model.

Its tough and IG has been making it tougher. No one sees us thru recommended post or in search without knowing our full username already. Generally I don't cold message anyone who hasn't at least commented on a post or followed me- otherwise it disappears into the hidden messages.

The new RF 45mm 1.2 is a lot better than the 50mm 1.8. I bring that 50mm 1.8 as a backup when I travel in case I break my primary lens (which did save a shoot when I dropped my 28-70 on rocks at the beach😪)

010

Artsy AF Photography @artsyafphotography.com · 08/06/2026

The RF 50mm 1.2 will always be my favorite lens, but I like it best for portraits in spaces where I have enough room to move around the subject. And keep in mind that if you are shooting landscapes with it you can shoot 3-5 shots vertical shots and stitch them together to create a big wide shot.

Artsy AF Photography @artsyafphotography.com · 08/06/2026

Now if I wanted lightweight, compact, and good for portraits, then new RF 45mm 1.2 is a great light and cheap option. I really liked it for video too.

When I went to southern Utah for landscape and didn't need to be as light, the RF 24-105 f/4 was awesome and much lighter

Artsy AF Photography @artsyafphotography.com · 08/06/2026

When I'm backpacking- the 28mm 2.8 was so nice because it was so small and light!

120

Artsy AF Photography @artsyafphotography.com · 08/06/2026

My everyday lens is the RF 28-70 f/2.0. It can do it all, from city, to landscape, to portrait. But its a heavy beast of a lens.

Artsy AF Photography @artsyafphotography.com · 08/06/2026

I have this lens and love it- its just an amazing all around lens. But its a beast to travel and hike with.

Maybe I should edit some models out of my waterfall shots and see how the waterfalls do on their own. Somehow I forget to just take a waterfall picture!

Most of the time when it's "solicitation" versus nudity it has more to do with the caption or links in bio. I never "ask" anything in a caption that pairs with a shot with nudity. Referencing any place to see 'uncensored" will get it a solicitation removal in some cases.

I think its a big part of the appeal to me of Bluesky, but also why its so much less addictive that IG. But then that means I ignore this for weeks at at time.

010

Artsy AF Photography @artsyafphotography.com · 24/03/2026

Curious- do you view Bluesky on a big monitor or on your phone? I always view it on my big monitor- so I love that its a good place to share landscape crops! Model: @mariaposa-muse.bsky.social Photographers book her if you see her touring near you! #fineartphotographer #fineartmodel #fineartnude

@mariaposa-muse.bsky.social is the best! I’ve been working on a few books myself and Mixam is my choice for them as well…though I want to do big 12x12 books and that’s so much more than the 8.5x11 🤦‍♂️
