Do you have a plan to #vote? Every #election matters – and every year the stakes get higher. If those in power wanted to make our lives better, they would focus on that. Do they? Are you better off? #politics
The background of this design is a classic blue ocean tube wave. Emblazoned across it is the word “VOTE” in large white letters. Above the “VOTE” it says, “If those in power wanted to make our lives better, they would.” Below it, they ask “Do they, where you live?”

Zelenskyy might be saving our democracy. The mad genius is bombing Russian data centers linked to FAKE NEWS bot farms. Without them, Putin’s midterm influence will accidentally fall from a 30th floor window. I 💙 Ukraine 🇺🇦

This square design from Parade Magazine has a cool pink background and centers on a white rectangle with rounded edges. Inside the white area the words say, “Art is an international language, understood by all.” Above the quote is the violet-and white rectangle of the Parade logo, and a large pair of rust-colored quote marks. Below the white rectangle in a fat, round-ended line that also is rust-colored, we find “Igor Babalilov” credited for the quote. See https://parade.com/living/art-quotes

“Can #EMS transport an injured #K9?” The question caught this provider off-guard, but it’s an important question – and a service that definitely should be available. How did Florida-based Aeromed integrate K9s into their protocols. www.jems.com/ems-training...
This design centers on a display for “Aeromed K-9 Hero Care & Transport Training.” The display includes a sculpture of a life-size K9 in a tactical vest leaning on a podium, the logo and title card on a large screen, and a standing banner for Tampa General Aeromed K9 Care with a photo of a handler and K9 in front of a helicopter. Can our #dogs 🐕 (or other #animals) communicate meaningfully using “talking buttons”? PBS News ran a #feature that explored the idea. It includes an interview with #animal #behavior #researcher Federico Rossano. Scientists remain skeptical. What do you think? youtu.be/czLwLol6eHY?...
Arguably the “original button dog,” Stella, a medium-sized dog with a smooth, red-brown coat and upright ears, places her paw on one out of four long rows of “talking buttons,” 37 in all. The buttons are spaced out on a Masonite-type board on a tile floor, in a room with white-painted walls and white double doors. The words at the bottom say, “Christina Hunger’s dog Stella / PBS.” See the story on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/czLwLol6eHY?si=Vuyiys9SfSNUjxOLAnother famous “button dog,” Bunny the “sheepadoodle” has a poodle-fluffy coat that is mostly black with white paws, neck, and head. She places a paw on a button-board with interlocking hexagonal tiles of pink, white, blue, and green, each of which provides a backing for up to five buttons. They are laid out in an irregular crescent on a wooden floor. Closed captioning on this screen-capture from an NPR video feature says, “But the buttons and the people and dogs who used them kept growing in popularity.” Below the photo the words say, “Alexis Devine’s dog Bunny / PBS.” See the story on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/czLwLol6eHY?si=Vuyiys9SfSNUjxOLA slender golden-tan coated dog with prick ears, and a white blaze, forelegs, belly, and tail-tip, reaches toward a button on a board similar to that used by Bunny the Sheepadoodle, and looks back toward the photographer. These interlocking hexagonal button-boards are black-edged with blue and white buttons, and central areas of yellow, violet, aqua, red, and orange. They are laid out on a wooden floor near a bookshelf and potted plant. A partially-visible window fills part of the back wall. Closed captioning on this screen-capture from an NPR video feature quotes researcher Federico Rossano, and says, “Our plan of having maybe 100, 200 participants turned into more than 10,000.” Below the photo the words say, “Unattributed Image / PBS.” See the story on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/czLwLol6eHY?si=Vuyiys9SfSNUjxOLA shaggy, erect-eared West Highland White Terrier looks up at the photographer with one paw resting near a large red button on a mat that has roughly the form of an X or “plus” sign, which has been placed on a gray tile floor. Closed captioning on this screen-capture from an NPR video feature says, “hours of video of dogs using them. They also conducted controlled behavioral studies.” Below the photo the words say, “Alexandria Evans / BPS.” See the story on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/czLwLol6eHY?si=Vuyiys9SfSNUjxOL

It’s first in the #FirstAmendment! But all through #UShistory it’s been hard to practice. Are the parallel principles of #FreedomofReligion and the separation of Church and State more aspiration than practice? Have we ever observed it well? jansgephardt.com/index.php/20...
The background imagery of this square design is a red, white and blue background, across which the US flag unfurls. Superimposed over it is a painting of Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson around a table by a window. Franklin reads from a large sheet of paper. Adams, seated in the middle, listens to him. Jefferson stands next to the table with a quill and another large piece of paper, also listening. The words across upper part of the painting say, “WE’VE JUST CREATED THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.” Below the three men, it continues, “IT’S SO SIMPLE, EVEN A CHILD CAN UNDERSTAND IT, RIGHT?” Under the painting, it says, “Many thanks to Imgflip and Marshal Tenner Winter for this image.” See the blog post at https://jansgephardt.com/index.php/2020/07/02/freedom-of-religion-2/

My painting "Luscious Lime" made first place at the 12 x 12 MMAG show at Framer's Edge! AND-it received the Gallery's award! I think the 3D elements are what won them over. The show is up through June 30th if you want to see this piece and the other beautiful pieces first hand.

Happy #BlackDogDay! We at Weird Sisters Publishing love black #dogs! Yet many fear to #adopt them as #pets. To counter that, one #shelter volunteer created a day to celebrate them! XK9s Rex, Tuxedo, and Victor heartily approve! www.horizonanimalhospital.com/services/dog...
This square design centers on artwork for the cover of A Bone to Pick ©2020 by Jody A. Lee. It shows a large black dog (the book’s protagonist Rex Dieter-Nell) with his head and shoulders sticking out the window of a sporty-looking yellow car. The headline proclaims “Happy National Black Dog Day! WE LOVE BLACK DOGS! AND WE’RE NOT AFRAID TO ADOPT THEM! Do you love #ceramic #art? You might enjoy one of the #exhibitions running at the Montana-based #gallery. @redlodgeclaycenter.bsky.social See their “Piece of the Week” on Bluesky, or check out their Exhibition Calendar. www.redlodgeclaycenter.com/exhibitions/...
This square montage centers on a photo of a nighttime firing at the Red Lodge Clay Center. In this dramatic photo of the working studio’s buildings, fire bursts upward from two different chimneys as the potters in residence fire their works of art. Above the photo, the gallery’s name logo spells out “Red Lodge Clay Center.” Photo and logo are courtesy of the Red Lodge Clay Center’s website.
