I immediately loved drawing with it, and the next day drew this. The lines for the bowl and the water were pre-printed, but I drew every bubble and every pebble at the bottom. This was the first drawing I really loved, without reservation. On February 22, 2024, I got hooked on drawing. (16/17)

On February 12th I started PHP. Art therapy was huge for me. The 45-minute constraint allowed me to just start, rather than wasting time trying to find the perfect idea and talking myself out of trying. (13/17)

Three pieces of art: A dragon made by gluing ripped pieces of paper onto another sheet, a "blue marble"-inspired watercolor painting of the earth on a starry background, and a watercolor painting of a tree with silver armor for bark and bloody thorned roots.

The dragon started with the prompt: "Draw something you hate". I drew a dollar bill in crayon to represent money and capitalism. We were then asked to rip it up and glue the pieces to a new sheet to make something new. I assembled them into a dragon and titled it, "The Green Dragon of Capitalism"

For the tree we were prompted to create a tree with the roots representing our past, the trunk our present, and the branches our future. I painted bloody thorn-covered roots to represent my traumatic past, an armor-clad trunk representing the emotional armor I developed to protect myself, and a fruit-bearing canopy representing hope for a better future.

For most of my adult life I've been stuck in a cycle where after a while I just stop doing any work for my job. I'm usually unable to pull out of this before getting fired. On February 7th, 2024 the latest cycle peaked and I broke down completely. I drew this before calling a hotline. (11/17)

Then on January 11, 2024 a YouTube short showing off some cute accordian-fold doodles with hidden monsters inspired me to pick up a pencil. (I have a whole adventure planned in my head around the pocket-dimension rat hat) (10/17)

On November 14th, 2023 I finally started making things again. (When I first wrote this I said for the first time in 10 years, but then I found small counterexamples and it became a whole thing.) I made a dice bag with chainmail rings I'd held onto since high school. (9/17)

In 2012 or 2013 my wife and I got involved with the BDSM community, which brought us in contact with lots of creative people, and I dipped my toes back into creating things. It was only a handful of things from 2013 to 2017 though. (5/17)

I was always creative though. I liked writing, lego, sculpting, etc. when I was young, and when I was a teen I made chainmail jewelry and was a bit into cosplay. I adopted Wicca and made some related stuff. I was also always very interested in music. (3/17)

3-inch diameter steel pentacle pendant. I bent galvanized steel wire with tools I had from working chainmail, and bound it in place by wrapping with very thin silver (the metal, not the color) wire that I got by unwinding the wrapping around the larger strings on my dad's classical guitar when he re-strung it.

Had fun with this one! The color I used for the text was smearing really badly, so I tried to cover it with my masking fluid and it just pulled the dye in, making things worse. Lesson learned, I'll use masking tape next time. #art #traditionalart #fountainpenink #inksky #furry #furryart 🎨
