Went to the Fleurs de Villes exhibit/installation at the VanDusen Botannical Gardens in Vancouver. Artists decorate mannequins with flowers and plants, based on a theme. The one on the L is inspired by the Galapagos Islands. The one on the R inspired by The Great Barrier Reef.

There was no frozen juice in the freezer when I went shopping just now. But there's this great display.

I was in Canadian Tire and a woman stopped me to ask where I got my mittens. I told her they've seen better days and I think they were from Zellers, not even The Bay. She said she has a ratty pair too but her daughter is in Germany and wants a pair. Sadly, they are no longer available.

Decided to treat myself for my upcoming birthday and bought myself 2 Calvin and Hobbes books from @audreysbooksyeg.bsky.social Then I went to Duchess Bakeshop to see this year's gingerbread concoction. I love The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Trying out knitting two-at-a-time socks. Pros: efficient Cons: frogging (because when a mistake is made, you're taking not one, but *two* socks off the needles, and hoping you can rethread them correctly 🥴) 🧶

2 knitted socks on a circular needle, the toe parts as it's a toe-up pattern.

Yarn is variegated lavenders, purples, blues.

Picked up this year's Fringe Festival program today. They went on sale today. Festival runs Aug 14-24 this year. (This info is woefully missing from the cover, which is unlike them to omit). I love live theatre. I've been attending since 1993. I used to volunteer. Now I just attend shows! 🎭 #yeg

I started making these socks in April and just finished them today. The recipient's birthday is on October (which is why I started in the spring 😄). I really hope they fit. Fingers crossed. At this rate if I'm going to make anyone socks for Christmas, I should probably start in August. 🧶🧦
