not to brag, but for dinner we had roast vegetables.. three varieties of eggplant, two types of tomato, red peppers and basil.. all from our garden! and it was delicious! and we tried the pickles my partner made from our cucumbers and they’re so goddamn good i can’t even tell you…

just got home from camping! it’s almost a full day’s work to get there and haul everything in and set up or tear down but nobody touched our space again and i saw SO many beautiful caterpillars and it stormed really hard last night but we stayed dry so anyway i think i legally own that land now

maybe someday soon i’ll stop fixating on bones and attach some of the cannons i’ve been keeping in our freezer for weeks now

katonya sculpture work in progress from tonight. her head is attached to her ribs and spine, which has had an armature frankensteined into it

my lunchbreak setup before i started painting; a palette and extra watercolors in a little tin sit with my bag and water bottle on a rock just tall enough to be dry in a calm deep spot in the stream i frequent. a flower has been wedged between that rock and another to keep it still and in water for reference

i know we all know google sucks now, but as of this morning its only date filters are WITHIN the past year or less??? even in the advanced search settings i’m not seeing any options to view results BEFORE a date?? am i blind?

proud of everyone for surviving 6 hrs of my driving on unmarked and unmaintained forest service roads (without cell service in pitch darkness) because the no-motor-vehicles-allowed “road” we’ve been taking to our secret campsite for years was finally physically blocked and we had to find another way

my partner sitting in the passenger seat of our prius (proven off road vehicle). Warren looks out the back seat window and you can see the makeshift divider that separates him from clover. fig isn’t visible, but he’s in the trunk. a lumpy roof storage thing is strapped to the top of the car.

my son is undergoing a transformation…. puberty sure is wild

warren about to chase a ball, his torso, front legs, neck, and face have been shaved. his butt and back legs remain long and fluffy, and the top of his head and ears are also still long.

my creative drive is still not talking to me but we Are at least going to have a fantastic garden this year! (if you’re in the pittsburgh area and want vegetables let me know..! we accidentally started more than we can plant, even after digging out the back of the yard)

a hole i dug in the back of the yard today to finish filling our raised beds. hard to tell, but it’s at least three feet deep! i had to dig a step into it to get back out and hoist dirt into our wheelbarrow. note the gate between the barrow and the hole… required to keep the puppy out of it

was excited to see my spiderwort blooming, so i set up a little shelter with my poncho strung between the fence and a step ladder and foolishly used watercolors in the rain (painting a flower in the rain: also not smart, the water really weighed it down & changed the lighting)

yesterday it rained off and on, and i loved being out in it 💞 listening to it all around, seeing the bugs come out from hiding afterwards, and the glittering drops of water on the leaves..!!
