The names start to become familiar to me in the high 900s. Top work.

Dear god. They’re calling it the Jersey Mike’s Trophy. Could it get any more tacky? The Hooters Shield maybe?

It’s a dreadful moment when you’re first offered one. I was only 52.

So the choice for support is Meta, Meta, Meta or Musk? I think I’ll just ring you up.

Lots of lovely rain today and an epic storm before bed.

The Gasroom transfer thread is full of joy as usual. That said, if you mute ‘James’ and ‘Chairboys80’s new profile, it’s like reading a redacted document from a public enquiry.

And wait two months for your delay repay (including the appeal when they try and cheat you first time around).

First day I’ve been chilly indoors in about 3 months (Nottingham). Still got the window open as I’m enjoying it. Decent rain over the last three days and things are already greening up.

The funniest bit of Farage’s re-election stunt in Clacton is not Count Binface but Laurence Fox garnering a risible 347 votes.

Londoners moaning there’s not one down their street. Meanwhile in the funding starved East Midlands we’re still mixing it with Brexity van drivers and elderly Mail readers. Well done Mayor Khan - have a word in Claire Ward’s ear next time you meet.

Reach’s Derby Telegraph ran a story last week on Rolls-Royce plc, the city’s biggest and most illustrious employer. It described them as the manufacturer of luxury cars. The car bit was hived off from RR plc in the 90s. Another nail.

If you need to find money for defence it makes sense to chop it from the region with the lowest transport spend per head. And then wonder why they’re all switching to Reform. #EastMidlands www.theguardian.com/politics/202... www.statista.com/statistics/1...

Blair was a salesman for Gordon Brown’s policies. He’s now a salesman for the oil states and tech-bros. The Coca-Cola Christmas truck has more dignity.

Final bit being demolished soon. I’ve been here 25 years and that area’s always been about to be redeveloped. Probably lucky the shopping centre idea finally failed in 2020. Definitely starting to pick up after some tough years.

Does the Today programme still do ‘business leaders’ / ‘Union barons’ thing? Every word calculated, repeated and normalised.

They also don’t ask me if I’d like to listen along while co-pilot provides ‘bonus content’ about the music, or offer alternative sleeve artwork that looks like a knock off saucy seaside postcard where band member have claws for hands.

My records and CDs don’t ask me to pay a fee to keep listening to them. Or if I would care to accept advertising cookies from their 587partners. They don’t need an Amazon Prime account to work when someone sells the label. And they still play when a band member upsets the endlessly outraged.

My old boss ordered a round of cheese and ham sandwiches for us all at a hotel after a night out. The cheese and ham sandwiches turned up, much to the annoyance of a veggie college. Boss called the member of staff back with ‘I said cheese AND ham, not cheese and ham’.
