You might think you’ve prepped well for your council’s new bin collection project, but that won’t stop Professor Facebook pointing out some ‘simple’ improvements…
Facebook post in response to the local authority moving bin collection day.

“Ashfield District Council can you say honestly that this is to make things easier for when we get new food waste bins by 2027 as ordered by government & why can't the brown bins be free & used as food waste as well as garden waste if its going to be composted anyway, not just going to landfill, like my son says atm if he cuts a branch off an apple tree it can go in garden waste bin but then he peels & cores said apple & that atm has to go in red bin for landfill doesn't make sense. Why do we pay for refuse collection with our council tax but then have to pay again for you to empty garden waste?? It would be easier &, make more sense to have it all condensed into one bin.
Why do you have to change days for bin collections to ready yourselves for the introduction of new bins??”

I’m glad I’ve finally learned the reason behind why @petemckee.bsky.social’s exhibition is called The boy with a leg named Brian 🤣. Both artwork and commentary cards an equal delight at this wonderful show.

Spit and polish
Nobody uses handkerchiefs these days. I guess kids are cleaner now? But a hankie, combined with a generous amount of spit, is an excellent means of getting spuds out of your ears, ice cream sauce off your chin, crust out of your eyes or snot off your nose.

Lisa Nandy. It’s certainly not her place to tell broadcasters what they can or can’t show.
Excerpt from BBC News.

“Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said as a viewer, she too
"certainly won't be watching it" but that it wasn't her place to tell broadcasters what they could or couldn't show.”Excerpt from Sky News.

“Ms Nandy condemned the "appalling and unacceptable scenes" at Glastonbury and said the government would not tolerate antisemitism.
She said she had called BBC director-general Tim Davie after the broadcast of Bob Vylan's set to find out why it had aired, and why the feed had not been cut.
"I expect answers to these questions without delay," she said.”
