Thrilled to share that our work is now published in Science! ✨ We found a preference for visual objects in the mouse spatial navigation system where they dynamically refine head-direction coding. In short, objects boost our inner compass! 🧭 www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... 🧵1/

New: Mark Zuckerberg was warned he'd die in prison. Tim Cook said those who led the "shameful" insurrection "should be held to account." Google's founder said he was "deeply offended" by Trump's first win. Now all have fallen in line, giving $1 million to Trump's inaugural fund wapo.st/3PzjIC1
Chart showing Big Tech donations to inaugural committees
After giving sparsely to the swearing-in festivities of Donald Trump in 2017 and Joe Biden in 2021, some of the biggest tech giants have donated $1 million each to President-elect Trump’s inaugural fund.

Well that's a spanner in the works. Transient CaMKII inhibition in the amygdala blocks the short term memory (1h) but the long term memory (>1 day) still forms!!!! Brilliant work from the Yasuda lab #neuroscience #biophysics www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Formation of long-term memory without short-term memory revealed by CaMKII inhibition - Nature Neuroscience
Inhibiting CaMKII impairs short-term memory (STM) in mice during an avoidance task but does not affect long-term memory (LTM). This suggests that STM and LTM are processed differently, with CaMKII cri...

Behold, our first #Neuroskyence thread! :) About one of our favourite questions: As a neuroscientist, should you average across trials to get pretty things like receptive fields and population vectors? Or should you resist the urge?

The effect of seeing scientists as intellectually humble on trust in scientists and their research - Nature Human Behaviour
Across five pre-registered studies, Koetke et al. find that perceptions of scientists’ intellectual humility positively affect the perceived trustworthiness of scientists and their research.
