Nice bit of coding genie marketing--when you ask for a plan & it lays tasks out week 1, week 2, week 3-5, & then 4 hours later you're done.

_pretty_ happy with three Canadian teams in the quarterfinals and maybe 75% Canadian teams coming in the semis and of course a Leafs-Oilers final we’ve all been craving

Fun Marvel stuff with my wife She’ll be like, “who’s her sister again?” “Black Widow” “who?” “Scarlett Johansson” “oh.” Or, I know she’s seen five or so of these productions with Sebastian Stan, and she’ll say, “His name is Bucky?!” kind of jealous she sees a bunch a retains nothing, a gift!

Pope Francis lifted the world as he led the Church with his profound moral voice. As he returns to God, may his call to humility and concern for the least among us continue to resound.

don’t know when it started, but somehow a large % emerged in the back-and-forth with my wife where one of us will quote Tim Robinson’s “I think you should leave” and the other responds in kind. It’s at least daily now. Maybe the most quotable show for slice of life moments?

One time my wife said, I’d really like to see a movie you want to. So we went to see “The Raid: Redemption” in theatre. Honestly, what a good sport she was. We left 😂 but I seem to remember it was because it was too loud, not the violence (but maybe the violence?)

I have superhero media fatigue, and I think most Marvel projects are mid and not memorable. My view is Daredevil: Born Again is excellent and improving. Great suspense, embracing large topics while staying street-level, good cohesion. Works for me, worth a watch.

In chess, the major pieces (queen and rooks) stand on highly effective squares from the start of the game. The minor pieces (knights and bishops) do not, and must develop to active, influential squares. Ambiguous, the king’s proper placement is determined by a constellation of shifting threats.

We ship all our understanding + communication (meaning and intent) Unless we haphazardly use AI code dev tools; in that case, we ship all of our misunderstanding and verbosity (lacking meaning and guessed intent) What could go wrong? Human judgment is key to understanding and communication.

U.S. is largest global arms exporter Defense sector benefits from rising global tensions, increasing export Conflict amplification fueling geopolitical instability ergo increases influence in foreign policy AND defense sales/profits Perverse incentive for an immoral actor to bend conflict to gain

UX / UI made so many gains in the last 25 years, a seat at the table, a say in the decisions. Recognition and impact. But lately, awful. Somehow the voice of utility and aesthetic has fallen in priority and delivery. I’d be interested to learn why

best film of the year was Anora, I would also accept Dune: Part Two. I’m not qualified on best actress, Mikey Madison was wonderful, Demi Moore also great. need to watch The Brutalist, will today For best animated film, Flow or The Wild Robot both excellent. I’m sure Wicked will win some awards.

Ursula le Guin, on the accusation that fantasy is an escape from reality
[“Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier is imprisoned by the enemy, don’t we consider it his duty to escape? The moneylenders, the know-nothings, the authoritarians have us all in prison; if we value the freedom of the mind and soul, if we’re partisans of liberty, then it’s our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can.”]

Imagine if you added features to software according to a steady flow of feature requests. You take a feature request and, to make sure you understand it, clarify and specify what constitutes acceptance of the feature in some detail. In fact, just to be sure, make the acceptance criteria executable.

I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.
A Barred Owl perches contemplatively on a wooden lattice fence, surrounded by green foliage. The owl's distinctive striped feather pattern and round face are clearly visible in profile. The peaceful daytime scene of this typically nocturnal creature mirrors the thoughtful nature of the accompanying quote about making the most of our time to show kindness.

Honestly believe most Americans can’t imagine the level of unity and solidarity that Canadians feel for each other (regardless of regional, linguistic, cultural, political division), how totally bonded we can be in our decision making and action, our ability to go without.
