That horror's in our DNA now. My shock from the TV was broken when a frantic colleague ran into the room screaming that the Pentagon had been hit. Within minutes, the streets around the WH were filled with armored personnel carriers and soldiers with machine guns. Wish you well friend, tough day.

On 9/11 I worked on K Street in DC a couple of blocks from the White House. There's an indelible reel from that morning in my head. I recall thinking "what a beautiful morning" as I walked to my office. Inside, when I saw the conference room big screen TV all beautiful morning thoughts were erased.

This is small world crazy. I was born in Clarksburg in 1957 and eventually graduated HS from EHS. I remember those same cable systems. Worked a bit at WBOY then at several WV radio stations before moving on to DC in 87. Remember Nozmo King on Adventure Time?

Oh, no. When I was very young, I lived in way-rural WV but had WTAE and WQED on cable TV. Amazing luck that I was served up Joe, Paul, and Mr. Rogers daily despite my remote upbringing. Sixty-some years on, I still vividly recall watching them. Outstanding children's programming. #Influences 🙏💙🎸☮️
