I've often thought of this. Why go for the hard target like the Baltics and risk getting involved with all of the Nordics, Poland and maybe even Germany and UK when you can go for the south where it seems like the countries have been far more complacent about the threat so far.

Only answer to this is to double the supplies to Ukraine. It's the only consequence that really matters to putin. From now on Europe is alone in a struggle for its survival. I just hope we realize this soon or we will pay dearly.

I don't know what how this will work, but the JEF countries are our best hope for peace in Europe. If Kanada joins and hopefully in the future Poland and Ukraine we have a pretty good alliance for the future whatever happens with US and Nato or EU with it's Putin friendly governments popping up.

Sadly it's a win-win for Russia. Europe does nothing: Russia gets to continue scaling up aggression unhindered and undermine the whole idea of Nato. Europe retaliates: Putin gets thee perfect excuse to start with mobilization, which is what he really wants.
