The Manchester City case shows us how the global mega-rich now expect to operate with impunity | Jonathan Liew
When transnational alliances have scarcely been weaker, the way the club was allegedly run offers a bleak vision of a world driven by brute power and wealth, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Liew

Kevin Keegan held a unique place in my life. A Doncaster lad who made Newcastle his home and had pride for both cities. Keegan grew up one village over from me, went to school at the end of my dad's street, and got out of the town to become an iconic figure in football and in Britain. #NUFC #DRFC

What a magnificent way to win it on the final hole for Ryan Fox. Super end to a fab Open, a feel-good winner among quite a few candidates this week. Burns and Fleetwood excellent as well throughout. #TheOpen

English media love nothing more than pulling down the national team. The usual suspects sure, but especially the Athletic and also Guardian digging at the team, at Tuchel, talking about Pep..so tiresome. We didn't win it, we made mistakes. Boo hoo. One team will win it all, and we got pretty close.

Classy from Giles Richards here - Verstappen is one of many athletes who do well to remember that journalists aren't there to make them happy, they are there to get insights and report facts. Max's driving in Spain last year was a disgrace, as was the rudeness to Giles here.

Dreadful news, Catherine O'Hara is a legend of the screen. Love her in Beetlejuice, in awe of her constant laughs in Schitt's Creek, and the last thing I saw her in was The Studio which she was also brilliant in. Tbh she was brilliant in everything. A rare talent.
