C'mon man, the street signs on the left are attached a lamppost that becomes a tree trunk at the top and the lampposts in the background are several stories tall, the windows on the building are two stories tall each too. C'mon.

The photo illustrating what I just described.

Hell yeah. First time I don't ragequit halfways into 3rd planet too.

Screenshot of Galactic Racer showing the results of my first completed run of Third Act. A lot of first places, three second places and one third place; also a couple races with no position? I don't know what happened there.

Build: Speeder Bike. Speed 511. All stats maxed except battery at level 3. Six Ramjet-related parts installed, three of them maxed, two level 3 out of 4, one level two. Abilities: Vent, Autopilot and Surge.

First thing in the novel that looks better in the new art style: The shotgun.

Screenshot of visual novel Umineko No Naku Koro Ni. A woman dressed in high class clothes in a purple color scheme holds a shotgun in her hands. The art style is kinda amateurish and the hands are cartoonishly big, but it is charming and expressive. She has a pretty menacing expression but the flat shading of the shotgun and the way it sits in her huge hands makes it look like a toy.

Screenshot of visual novel Umineko No Naku Koro Ni. The same woman is drawn in a more modern, more stylized, more produced artstyle. The shading is more subtle and uses gradients to create more volume, the body proportions are more normal (her breasts are way bigger because of course they would be), the shotgun is more detailed, the light reflecting off the metal is pretty well rendered and it looks the correct size for a weapon in her hands. Her face looks, however, like she just remembered she saw a servant serve tea wrong or something. Like she's sad and mildly annoyed at something that doesn't really matter but she will let it ruin her day? Her face's all weird, is what I mean.

Still not what a seagull sounds like, but you keep going backwards through the alphabet and you'll eventually get close. Keep it up.

Text excerpt from Umineko:
"That's right. Tomorrow, when the weather gets better, I'm sure they'll come back so we can hear them cry 'myaa myaa' like they always do."

Arma Bellum @armabellum.quenmorr.eu · 07/10/2026

I don't care how you call seagulls in japanese or about the differences in onomatopoeic transcriptions between languages. That is NOT what a seagull sounds like.

Fragment of text from Umineko:
"If I remember correctly, whenever we came to this island in the past, the seagulls always greeted us with their lively 'nyaa nyaa' cries."

By the way do you know how fucked up it is to have come across so many times the universal-scale sounding quest name "Shattering Stars" and the boss name "Maat", a mix of proto-Semitic "Ba'al" and "Mot"; assuming it was some sort of reality-defying abstract being, and finding out it's just this guy?

Also funny doing them as a Spaniard and seeing the map trying to pinpoint places where people say "see" like "sí".

Your dialect map

Redder areas talk more like you; bluer areas least.

You talk most like someone from Washington, D.C. — about 50% of your answers match a typical resident.

[Heatmap showing the areas where they talk mores like me are a tiny bit of Delmarva and the coast south of it, Hawai'i, Florida, California and Texas, and the area where they talk the least like me is a big blob centered in South Dakota]

Cities most & least like you

These are all the same thing to me, you learn to write like the first to get a feeling for the motions and what a "word", as you learn to write faster you progressively simplify into the second and with some luck don't degenerate into the third. I don't know why you would want to start at 2.

The word "handwriting" handwritten in three styles.
The first is probably what you'd call "cursive done by a 7 years old".
The second is whatever you call the style where you don't connect most letters but done by someone with bad handwriting who is writing fast.
The third is better called a "scratch" that only vaguely resembles the word "handwriting" but the letters are mostly connected again.

Oh yeah this comic fucking rules

Photo of a two page spread showing two old men wielding farm tools surprised that they just broke into a bandit hog hideout and several closeup panels of the bandit hogs' faces, all very detailed and incredibly full of personality, also surprised (and angry) that the old men just broke into their hideout.

Learn regular calligraphy? ❌ Spend 3 years using the dead time at work inventing your own nonsensical script until you end up organically developing different handwriting styles for it and use THAT to do bad attempts at calligraphy? ✔️

Three pages cut off a notepad. Each of them contains a bad attempt at calligraphy consisting of squiggles that look similar to letters but aren't identifiable as actual writing.

Huh. Didn't expect anything competent to come out when I picked up the markers.

Drawing of an unidentifiable mammal, some sort of hybrid of a manul and a red panda with stripped fur, crouching behind a rock with its back arched menacingly, looking at the viewer. A front paw rests on the side of the rock and the other is firm on the ground as if ready to start running. Its tail curls around the rock.
The only color is some brown highlights under the stripes and green dots in the eyes.

Not as bad as the one that has this delightful paragraph coming out of nowhere to tell you his opinion on Arioch and whoever wrote her not one, or twice, but three times. Two of them in the middle of nowhere, copypasted one after the other lmao.

Screenshot from a GameFAQs guide:
"Verse XII - An Invitation
Those are the spirits of fire and water, Salamander and Undine. The
chick is Arioch. That one is NUTS, man. Completely, wholly, entirely,
ineffably, kills-and-eats-small-children out of her ever-loving mind.
Whoever wrote her personality has a sick, sick mind and probably
masturbates to beastiality rape stuff. Okay, that's enough ranting for
me."

Screenshot from a GameFAQ's guide. It's the paragraph from the previous screenshot twice in a row, with no context at all.

This old mug has degraded in quite the poignant way.

Photo of a mug where an illustration of Mari Makinami (from Rebuild of Evangelion) has had half of her face eroded away by countless hand washes.

Photo of the same mug, the eroded streak from the previous photo continues over an illustration of Asuka Langley (from Rebuild of Evangelion), who has had most of her face eroded away.

Photo of the same mug, the eroded streak from the previous photos reaches its end over an illustration of Rei Ayanami (from Rebuild of Evangelion), whose face has been entirely erased by the countless hand washes.

Hey mate, mind refreshing my memory on who was your president in November 2023, December 2023 and January 2024 all the way up to January 2025?

Screenshot from the article:
"The Commission traced a stated shift in targeting to a 25 December 2023 Israeli military statement describing a move from selective strikes to causing "maximum damage" to Hamas."

Screenshot from the article.
"It investigated representative cases. On 29 January 2024, Israeli forces killed Hind Rajab, members of her family and two paramedics sent to rescue her in Tel al-Hawa, Gaza City. The Commission found the family's car was hit from close range and the ambulance shelled, and attributed the attack to the 401st Brigade."

Screenshot from the article:
"On 24 January 2024, a sniper killed a 15-year-old boy holding a white cloth as he stepped from his home in Khan Younis, then shot the older brother who ran to him. On 12 April 2024, a quadcopter shot a 10-day-old baby in the head as his mother breastfed him in a tent in Nuseirat camp. The baby survived with brain injuries."

Screenshot from the article:
"Seventeen medical practitioners who worked in Gaza hospitals reported a consistent pattern of children arriving with single gunshot wounds to the head and chest, indicating aimed fire rather than crossfire. The Commission documented a further 168 children with gunshot wounds between November 2023 and July 2025; at least 73 were shot in the head and 22 in the chest, and at least 88 died."

He only wears a fundoshi during the whole episode and then, during his speech at the end, the cloth hanging from its front flaps in the wind as he perches on a rock and whenever the camera cuts back to him the cloth is longer.

Screenshot from HeartCatch Precure. A lone man with long red hair stands on a pointy rock at sunset wearing a fundoshi. The cloth hanging from the front, already as long as he is tall, makes waves in the wind.

The same man still standing almost naked on a pointy rock at sunset, the cloth flutters even more dramatically and is now a few meters long.

Again, this man stands on a pointy rock that might have grown bigger since last time we saw it. We can see the back of two people's heads on the foreground, but what's important is that the cloth hanging from his furisode is now over ten meters long and he is further away from the camera just to highlight this.

Same man, same rock, same sunset. He is no longer at the center of the screen, so we can see his furisode cloth wave in the wind, now at least a couple dozen meters long, still disappearing offscreen, suggesting the length of this cloth may be impossible to conceptualize by mortal minds.
