Plus Miyazaki normally didn’t go out of his way to watch dubs of his films, but he did with Howl specifically when he heard that it had the legendary Lauren Bacall and he so desperately wanted to meet her.

I love it when celebrities decide to have humorous quotes or sayings on their gravestones showing how much they loved giving joy even from beyond the grave.

The grave of Rodney Dangerfield saying “There goes the neighbourhood.”

The grave of Mel Blanc saying “That’s All Folks” “Man of 1000 Voices

The grave of Leslie Nielsen saying “Let ‘er rip.”

The grave of Peter Falk saying “I’m not here, I’m home with Shera.”

Well, they were originally a series of books by Elizabeth Beresford which were then turned into a stop motion series in the 70s by Ivor Wood (Postman Pat). They’re creatures who live in England’s Wimbledon Common who recycle litter from humans and have become very popular characters in Britain.

Some puppets from the 1997 stop motion Wombles series formally on display at the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Saw this in a store today and apparently, the normal version of Mario Kart Double Dash is a LOT less graphic and horrific than how Nintendo originally planned it… Why didn’t anyone tell me about this?

051

Alex Millar @arm2001.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Also I saw this and just had to respond… You realise you are literally comparing a company that only made a bunch of space movies you don’t like to an organisation that secretly s*xually abused HUNDREDS of minors for decades, right?

Ok, I will admit comparing Zerex to ani-woke channels is definitely a bit excessive, But you do know that AniMat does still actually acknowledge and respect others opinions if they don’t like Wish or Hexed and like CWACOM or Hotel Transylvania right? Something that you apparently don’t seem to do.

From Zerex’s community posts talking about the third video in AniMat’s Cartoon Community video

Well, this is it. After all the waiting, the drama, and the petitions to get it released, I’m finally gonna show my support for the film that the entire animation community have been begging to be released.

Don’t ya just Loooove having to buy a physical copy of a film you love that isn’t available in your country only to be met with a region lock and having to buy an entire new region free player to manage it?

I’m pretty sure non of you have heard of this movie, but for me at least it’s certainly this. If you need the literal definition of an unfunny one joke movie, this is most likely it.

I just watched the Ivan Reitman movie Dave for the first time and it occurred to me when looking at the plot, that this film is possibly the closest we’ll get to having an official version of Disney’s Kingdom of the Sun before it was reworked into The Emperor’s New Groove.

Alex Millar @arm2001.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Other than some of the obvious ones, there are plenty of other solid remakes that I really like such as the Peter Jackson King Kong, The Jungle Book from 2016 and Miracle on 34th Street from 1994.

Honesty, I have nothing really to say about this news. The first film was the only one of these movies I liked, so this is just another case of milking a dead franchise. Then again, no-one asked for Toy Story 5 or Minions and Monsters and they turned out to be surprisingly good, so who knows.

I apologise for being a “corporate shill that’s contributing to the death of animation being seen as an art form and not a genre”, but it’s now time to see for myself if the third Minions movie is as surprisingly good as people are saying…

Alex Millar @arm2001.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

“Wanna see Pixar actually make a new Toy Story movie that’s great and feels necessary even after the perfect ending with 3?” “Wanna see them do it again?” I think it’s safe to say Pixar’s had a great 40th anniversary this year and those who say they’ve fallen couldn’t be more wrong.

Alex Millar @arm2001.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

Well, now’s the moment of truth. After a week of vacation and only hearing amazing things about it, it’s time to see for myself if the fifth entry in Toy Story really lives up to all the hype. Given how much of a fan of this franchise I am, it has a lot to live up to…

I think when going to any foreign country especially in a tourist area it’s always inevitable you’re gonna find some of the weirdest and ugliest knock off merch, and I think I found possibly the most unsettling Goku and the most drugged up Mickey and Minnie.

Going down to the beach was really nice. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a coastal area, but after walking through the tide in just bare feet and sandals, I think we need to cut Annakin some slack about sand cos he’s honestly right…
