It really is! Totally recommend the crop art exhibit btw — You can get up close to the crop art and take your time with no lines!

Result is that more lines fit on the screen before running off the bottom, but they still run off the bottom (and I cannot read them as easily bc they are too small now) 👵🏻

~Bluesky iOS app question~ Lately when I compose a longer post, the upper text is fixed and lines >9 disappear behind the icon bar and screen keyboard (see pic). I can stop typing and swipe up to display the last few lines but it springs back on releasing. Typing blind, hard to fix errors. Help?
Screenshot taken while composing this very post, demonstrating that the post’s later lines drop below the virtual keyboard and can’t be seen while composing them.

My 20-year-old college sophomore is about to move into their first apartment with a kitchen, and to mark that occasion, today they cashed in on a present I promised to a baking-obsessed child long, long ago. The weightiest part of the decision: “Feather Pink”

Spending the bad air days doing indoor chores. Finally got to my absolute favorite part of yearly cleaning out the (home) schoolroom. (I’ve already done pencils)
On a table, left: Big plastic bin of jumbled pens, markers, dry erase markers. Foreground: Paper with many different-colored test scribbles. Background: a small whiteboard also with test scribbles, and a desk organizer beginning to be filled up only with pens and markers that still work.

Just got back from lunch with someone I’ve known from the Internet for… 28 years and change? Since the days of listservs. We’d never met in person, she was to drive cross country thru Mpls, & messaged me last month to see if we could get together. Internet friends are real-life friends!
Two white women sit side by side in a restaurant booth. The older woman has long dark braids, eyeglasses, and a dark blue tee shirt with a pink cartoon axolotl on it. The younger, genX woman (me) has shoulder length curly hair, eyeglasses, a pink patterned sleeveless dress (pockets), and an awkward selfie smile.

I haven't seen this Pope Leo quote appear on Bluesky yet. It's from the NYT Live feature, April 13, 5:30 a.m., reported by Motoko Rich. "Asked directly about Trump's comments on Truth Social, Leo said: 'It's ironic — the name of the site itself. Say no more."

Anyway, I spent Monday mostly indoors marveling at snow, and my bonus day I went to the Met. I didn’t have good enough boots to walk in Central Park. The paths seemed to have been groomed like a ski trail rather than plowed, and were slick. Maybe that was a choice! Looked pretty, though.
A Central Park pathway, plowed to packed snow, with snow frosting the trees, deep snow al around. Blue sky behind.

And the police department later distanced themselves from report that they had intervened. I guess we can’t have people thinking they’ll side with town residents against criming feds:
The Saint Peter Police Department was contacted regarding a resident who had an interaction with federal immigration authorities. The Saint Peter Police Department did not participate in, coordinate with, or intervene in any federal enforcement activity related to this incident.

Shortly after the call was received, federal immigration authorities dropped the individual off at the Police Department. Police Chief Grochow then ensured the resident was safely transported home and offered assistance, as we would for any member of our community who experiences distress or needs support.

The Saint Peter Police Department is committed to treating all residents with dignity and respect and to providing assistance when requested or needed in our community.

This statement is intended to clarify the City’s role in this matter. No further information is available at this time.

This is the place at Kent State University where Jeffrey Miller was felled by a bullet fired by OH NG members during a student protest. You may have seen a more famous photo from the same perspective.
In the foreground, an asphalt roadway. A rectangular area of the roadway, perhaps the size of a single bed, is subtly outlined by a raised band of lighter-colored paving material. Six black metal bollards with glass windows near their tops, stand guard: one at the head and one the foot and one at either side. In the midground, gently rolling green grass, a lone leafy tree, a corner of a utilitarian brick university building. In the background a longer expanse of green grass and trees.
