I think part of what makes it so off-putting to me is that it's a behavior I've traditionally seen coming from conservatives, i.e. "democRATS," "NObama," or finding a pejorative rhyme for a football team they don't like ("Forty-Whiners"). And before that, it was kindergarten playground behavior.

Actually, looking closer, they're not the same image, though they are oddly similar (signs in the exact same place, foreground penguins in the same position, etc.). Probably multiple iterations of the same prompt, I'm guessing.

If you've seen the original image, the text has very clear signs of AI generation. Lemme look... OK, I found the original for comparison - I'm guessing it was touched up with AI as well because the eyes appear to have been removed.
