For additional context, I have a brother with Down syndrome and his social media habits are atrocious. He’s not posting random hate comments, but he changes his profile picture on FB about 12 times a day sometimes, from one power rangers image to another. His face isn’t on there. You wouldn’t know.

Just take a look at a profile before you start publicly shaming them and make sure you’re not vilifying someone with the intellectual capacity of a 6th grader. Like, once you’ve verified it’s a grown ass man that should know better, fire away. But just be conscious of this possibility.

Explaining to the 7 year old that Robocop was a police officer who got really badly hurt, so they turned him into a robot to save him, at which point she goes, "You mean like Dog Man?" And you know what? She's absolutely spot on. Dog Man is literally Robocop for little kids.

You can see this in several forms: Disney cancelling anything remotely interesting coming out of Lucasfilm (like The Acolyte, Skeleton Crew, Bad Batch), merch primarily featuring just Vader, Stormtroopers and other Space Nazi imagery, and Hasbro ignoring the Sequel Trilogy and other projects...

So over the past 5 or so years, Disney and Hasbro have primarily been directing all merchandizing and toy efforts at this part of the fanbase in an effort to appease them, because sales are down across the board. (Of course, that has more to do with economics than fandom, but whatever)...

So here's the cliff's notes: Hasbro has had the Star Wars license since they bought Kenner in the 90's. They used to do rad stuff with it, like action figures based on old concept art and such. Lately, they seem to only be interested in catering to a very specific subset of Star Wars fans...
