One of the few places I feel less queer is when I’m reading queer fiction, specifically romantic (not erotic) fiction. The pacing feels off to me, both racing ahead and lagging behind what I expect. Is this just straight passing bisexual privilege? Or am I reading the wrong books?

I’m not sure what is worse. My dad is largely unaffected by the proliferation of AI because he hasn’t mastered navigating the internet on a new Windows machine after decades on Macs, or my mom (with combination of audio processing issues and short attention span) not even finishing the videos.

My mom’s alma mater sent a solicitation letter to her. They are a Catholic university and addressed it to Mrs. First Name, First initial, Lastname. She went by first initial middle name in school, but is correctly addressed as REV First initial, Middle Name. She’s almost ready to let me reply. 🧿

Staying with my parents, who have embraced minimalism in a conscientious way, makes me want to purge 80% of what I own. Being away from my boy and my husband and my dogs and the cat who tolerates us makes me want to purchase my weight in stationary and stickers and clothing and coffee drinks.

This morning I made coffee for myself and my dad. I took out a clever glass cylinder with a moving seal that keeps air away from the coffee beans, and a simple Krups grinder with a distinct crack in the housing. That grinder has seen nearly daily use for decades.

The price of putting a bandaid on the road situation has doubled in four years. The price of actually fixing the road and adding proper drainage ditches has also doubled, but was about 2.5x the cost of bandaid solution. In other words, the longer we put it off the worse it will be financially.
