A screenshot of the first page of a federal court filing titled, in bold and underlined text, “REQUEST FOR IMMEDIATE HEARING.” The document is in a case against “Donald J. Trump, et al.”

The filing says that earlier that morning, the court issued a Temporary Restraining Order directing defendants, except President Trump, to “immediately return, reinstate, and restore” White House hard-pass press credentials held by employees of CNN, MS NOW, and POLITICO that were revoked on or around September 18, 2026.

The plaintiffs state that despite the order, journalists from CNN, MS NOW, and POLITICO attempted to enter the White House that morning and were turned away. The filing alleges that Secret Service agents also confiscated hard passes from journalists whose passes had not previously been taken. It specifically says plaintiff Betsy Klein, whose hard pass had been confiscated on September 19, requested its return but was denied and refused access to the White House complex.

The filing emphasizes urgency because CNN is scheduled to serve as the television pool for President Xi Jinping’s visit to the White House that evening. It concludes by stating that plaintiffs’ counsel contacted defense counsel that morning and asked to call the court together, but defense counsel had not responded. Page number “1” appears centered at the bottom.
