Did I start Zero Company? Yes. Have I played it? No. How can you start a game without playing it? I've made a dozen characters is what I've done. This is BG3 all over again. Which was Skyrim all over again. Which was KOTOR all over again. Which was... Anyway, for unrelated reasons I'm on vacation.

I'm pretty excited for @hellomcdm.bsky.social's next joint. I really love Knave 2e, and to me, this is that +++ I love what MCDM has done with tiered results for Draw Steel. I look forward to how that enhances dungeon crawling Crows: Fortune or Death on www.backerkit.com/c/projects/m...

I've run published and custom modules for 25+ years. The best I've ever run (least work, most fun) were MCDM/ARCADIA adventures, starter boxes (5e, PF 1 & 2e, Dragon AGE), Scourge of the Howling Horde (3.5), RHoD (of course), The Twilight Tomb (3.5), and a smattering of DMsGuild Adventures' League.

Bruce Campbell sharing his diagnosis, losing so many amazing actors the last few months.. years? and watching Harrison Ford accept a lifetime achievement award... hoo boy... got any of that good news?

I started up a Fallout 2 run with the restoration patch. Kaga suuuucks, but saving the kids in The Den feels great. Bit of a meta run with low Perception and Endurance with high Agility, Intelligence, Charisma, and Luck 6 Strength so just above average). I should try Fallout Sonora next.

Helldivers 2 is in such a good state and the variety of missions and equipment is just pure joy. Infuriating pure joy.

Wait wait wait... We just got an ODST warbond for Helldivers and the one on September 4th is almost certainly a nod to Dune?! It even includes Atomics! We have Atomics, sure, but now we'll have MORE Atomics! Oh, it's going to be Butlerian Jihad II on Thursday.

re: Gears of War: Reloaded: Yup, that's how I remember it. Now with better load times Video games have come quite a way in terms of the quality of the experience for players. It still feels like a 360/PS3 era game, but it's certainly not bad I can see new players wondering why it feels like it does

David Spring @arcrevenant.bsky.social · 27/08/2025

As if TTRPG releases weren't coming hard and fast enough I want to sink my teeth into Gears of War Reloaded, Metal Gear Solid Delta, Deadzone: Rogue, and Helldivers 2 has the ODST warbond with a sick DRG looking update dropping on Monday? Who has the time for all of this?!

Just watched Barbarian since it's the same director as Weapons. Yeah, not as good. Not as smart and way more gruesome It was certainly scarier, but in the traditional "when's the thing going to happen" sense not the "I have no idea what's going to happen next"

010

David Spring @arcrevenant.bsky.social · 18/08/2025

Weapons isn't just a great horror film, it's one of the best, smartest films I've ever seen. I wish I could be watching it for the first time again right now. It made me so angry. Because it was working. I was feeling what the characters were feeling. That's good filmmaking.

Found an old hockey card from when I was 9 and I had listed one of my favourite hobbies as "AD and D". I remember it feeling so cool to have a hockey card of myself. I had maybe played D&D twice at that age. It's wild how much kids are impacted by those moments.

Tax season has been interesting. Time stops making sense. Today I worked a short 8 hour shift at the tax factory (not the name of a real place), wrote an exam for 3 hours, voted in less than 5 minutes, and made pizza. Sleep? No, no, we don't do that here.

I streamed for 6 hours this year. Which makes sense when I've had nonstop school, graduated college, and started my degree. Yada yada yada. NYE stream? PC is upgraded, my buddy gave me a green screen I could play around with, gf is working. I suppose I could pack but that's no fun.

The more time I spend working on (and in) comics, the more stunned I am that graphic novels even make it to shelves at all. The fact that more comic creators don’t just throw their hands up and quit halfway through is honestly incredible. Comic artists are powerful, and they deserve the world.
