This is the sort of nonsense I thought we outgrew last decade.

The new Firefox tab bar, with a pinned Twitch tab, a blank tab, a Bluesky tab, and a Google search tab for "firefox". There is no meaningful visual separation between tabs aside from being able to tell where one ends by the close button, the selected tab has a rounded selection, and the pinned tab and tab after have literally no separation between them.

Civ 2 on PS1 wasn’t the best version of Civ 2, but it was a weird part of my childhood. I love 5 and 6, but there was a whimsy in earlier installments that got lost along the way a little bit. You could even choose your civ’s architectural style!

The advisor screen in the PS1 version of Civ 2. All of the portraits are FMVs of people dressed in ancient Roman garb. The domestic advisor is inexplicably an Elvis impersonator, complete with sunglasses.

The V-Synth XT is in business, shoutout to the Redshift’s VESA mount for letting me relocate it. It’s a sonic labyrinth with a UI that’s as responsive as I would be on a Monday morning with a hangover. Whoever thought its DSP would be sufficient was tragically mistaken. But it sounds amazing.

working on a live setup with an iPad brain. DT2 and SM58 -> L6max as iPad audio interface -> iPad applies effects -> L6max master out AUM is hosting the plugins, including Turnado for performance effects, and sending clock to the DT2. it’s fun and stable so far.

A part of my studio with my L6max mixer, Digitakt 2, and iPad set up for live music.

Got a Fourm and the poly aftertouch curve on the black keys is basically a toggle. I'm like, 103% sure that aftertouch isn't supposed to act like an on-off switch. First note is low C#, second is low G. Back to Sweetwater it goes.

Dreamcast surgery today! GDEMU was already installed, but I put in - New USB-C PSU - Battery holder, resistor, fuse, and capacitor on the controller board - That shiny blue LED! My Noctua fan arrives tomorrow and I have the replacement open button latch in already. Gonna be cool and quiet.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that the recent changes to Facebook's like/reply/share buttons are among the worst I can think of in the history of mobile apps. Aside from blowing away a decade of muscle memory, the placement changes based on counts. I have to assume they want people to miss them.

Dug out the joystick I made explicitly to control the Wavestation VST and others with similar controls. It’s my favorite part of the Wavestation but I don’t have the space for the real thing. Not to mention that editing the software hurts much less.

Some DOA2 on Dreamcast for Itagaki-san. Spent quite a few maddening hours unlocking costumes in Survival Mode back in the day (though I think that was DOA Ultimate). RIP, 58 is too young.

dragged my Ender 5 into service for the first time in years. now I have nice happy quadrants under the retro gaming TV. sure am glad the OSSC has ports on all sides so it needs its own corner. honestly, though? this is pretty much the setup I’ve wanted for a while. just needs cable management.
