Fun discovery that apparently HearThis.at is not (yet) banned on Chinese firewall, which explains why my DJ mix uploads recently get some attention from Chinese IPs, according to analytics.

we did an engineer survey recently at my company. AI was a big part of it. If I had to summarize everyone's thoughts... "I am using AI responsibly, but everyone else is creating slop and needs to stop!" Just about everyone said that.

With all my love to Codeberg and Forgejo, I somehow didn't expect that Forgejo 11.0 released Spring 2025, went out of support yesterday. Somehow shorter LTS than I expected.

Recently each time when I think that I spend too much on energy drinks (not even daily), brain keeps reminding me that someone manages to not quit smoking in this economy. Maybe they just have much stronger grasp on home economy than me.

ArXiv announces a ban on AI content and the responses are hilarious. > You expect us to actually read the papers we cite?! yes, lol! www.404media.co/new-arxiv-rules-ai-…

Screenshot from Thomas Dietterich on X:
"Attention @arxiv authors: Our Code of Conduct states that by signing your name as an author of a paper, each author takes full responsibility for all its contents, irrespective of how the contents were generated."

With a reply from James Miller:
"So this means you expect every author to check every citation and make sure that every citation is real and accurate? What if it's beyond the ability of one of the authors to verify one of the citations because that citation is in a language he doesn't know or concerns technical material he doesn't understand but another author on the paper does?"

Downsides of "everything has USB-C now": people sometimes expect that if you connect two devices with USB-C cable, these devices automagically become friends in exact way you'd like to combine them.

How people cope with existential critical feelings like "I'd be so much better at Y if I started doing it ten years ago, and looking back at my past, I see zero serious reasons why I didn't start"? Some very fucked up FOMO.
