The mornings are getting colder, the sun is setting faster. The smell of fallen leaves fills my nostrils every time I walk outside. This is, for sure, my favorite time of year! Heading to a corn maze this weekend with a huge pumpkin patch at the end! I can’t wait! 🎃🎃🎃

Ngl if you have the means, building a separate rack for power and peripherals has been the absolute best move I’ve made! Adding my M1 Mac mini ive got sitting around and some local storage to the rack soon, nothing crazy but another example that a homelab will always find a way to spread 😭

He’s a fun mix of elements from different birds, but more so he’s just an Archie! Haha! His beak is like that of grosbeaks, so like finches a bit! His blue def a nod to blue birds like the eastern bluebird! The grey and the yellow fringe he’s got just felt right for complimenting the blue! ^v^ 💙

Did some cable management on the new AV rack under my desk, ngl, I was surprised by how many USB's I use. Including the ones on my mobo I'm up to 14 devices. That's not counting any sim peripherals which can push it closer to 20 devices on my system. Anyways, less cable spaghetti is always good!

It's nuts the impact it's having on my framerates. I'm seeing double digit bumps across most games! Apps also seem to load up faster, like I said, I'm pleasantly surprised at this chunk of fancy sand! ^v^ If I can squeeze 2-3 years out of this platform, I'll be content! Then it goes to the homelab!

Had the opportunity to jump to a 5800X3D and even for it being an older chip, dang! The difference in performance from the 5800X is noticeable in almost all games I play! I'm quite content with this last "upgrade" I'll make for my Zen3 rig. Too expensive to jump ship to a new rig right now imo! 🤷‍♂️🤓

Nerdy moment, but built an 8U 19" AV rack with a powered 16 port USB switch, Ubiquiti switch for the gameroom, and a PDU to separate power for easier troubleshooting. It's a neat little rack under my desk, out of the way and only set me back a few bucks! Love reorganizing stuff better than it was! 🤓

My mom surprised me with a bunch of snacks she brought back from Ireland. I got really emotional because the thought was really nice and a lot of the snacks were what my Gran used to sneak to me as a kid when we'd visit her. Tayto, fruit pastilles, curly wurlys, and a big slab of cadbury. So good! 💙
