The origin of the Red Thread of Fate is Chinese, and was depicted with it being tied on their ankles, but people are more familiar with the Japanese telling of the story where it is tied to the pinky fingers of the two destined lovers.

In Chinese folklore, the Red Thread of Fate (姻緣紅線 jan¹ jyun⁴ hung⁴ sin³/yīn yuán hóng xiàn) is tied by Yue Lao/月下老人 or also known as the Old Man Under Yhe Moon (jyut⁶ haa⁶ lou⁵ jan⁴/yuè xià lǎo rén), the lunar God of Marriage and Love who lives on the Moon.

‼️ The National Park Service has REMOVED mentions of transgender people being involved with Stonewall. Not only did the remove the world "Transgender" but changed "LGBTQ+" to "LGBQ+". The federal government is attempting to erase us and take away our history. This pride, we riot.
