I did say to myself both that I would collect more manga, and that I ought to use my employee discount more often...

I should have expected it, honestly, given how good it's been so far. We received a ton of manga last week - about to move it to a bigger section in a few days, so we beefed up stock - and the person managing the manga section at my store said we sold out of our WHA over the weekend.

Oh yeah. 100%. It's been an incredible anime year so far, and we're only halfway through. At this rate, my heart is going to give out by my birthday...

I refuse to believe that we're ending the season on quite possibly the most egregious cliffhanger I've seen in years.

"We'll edit it in post" NO, ACTUALLY. We, as a video-based TTRPG performance space, cannot afford that, outside of like *maybe* a dozen studios. As someone who advocated hard for the concept of pre-recording shows before CR or D20 popularized it, that wasn't to encourage *more* labor to the show.

a labor of love, also known as a DaVinci Resolve project file showing one half of an Actual Play episode edit with two dozen tracks, hundreds of subtitles, as well as hundreds of edits.

no one is obligated this isn't as important but y'all know how much the zelda franchise means to me, and i'd love to play the remaster OoT when it's out. I put on my Throne a crowdfunding for a switch 2 if anyone was interested. 🥺 throne.com/andrealausel...

I saw someone post that we entered a flow state after electing a socialist, and now all I can think of is Mamdani hitting back-to-back black flashes on what we'll call... a particularly troublesome cursed spirit.

We are back with Gate Night now (7pm PT / 10pm ET) on twitch.tv/sword_and_key After dealing with Gortash, we have one final Netherstone to collect. So it's about time we stop leaving Orin on Red and deal with this death-pervert changeling once and for all! #dnd #bg3

I really appreciated Quifrey in that moment, too. Walking the fine line between allowing your student to be who they are, and pushing them just enough to keep from stagnating... it's such a nuanced situation. I'm loving this story more and more every episode.

At the end of the day, I'm invested enough in the series that I'm almost 100% going to preorder the remake; I do not at all think it's going to be a bad game. I just think we would have been better served with a Switch 2 port of Twilight Princess and more time going towards the next mainline game.

Third... I think other games would be better suited to a remake, actually. Twilight Princess is my vote - it's my favorite game, yes, but also very beloved, isn't playable on Switch 2, and is open world friendly enough for them to play with marrying Wild-era mechanics with classic designs.

The positive image I have of OoT is personal to me, as it is for everyone. If all of a sudden we're remaking it, it means we have to define what the right voice for each character was, whether the art style fits well (the tapestry was good; that Ben Drowned-ass looking Link was... less good).

There aren't many qol changes to be made with that game - at least, not without changing things integral to the feel. All in all, it seems to me like a high-risk, low-reward situation - not at all ideal. Related: The allowances we make because of the tech limitations go away for a modern remake.

Second... This needs to be a borderline perfect game, or it's going to be poorly received. Part of OoT's legendary status is that it feels like it did basically everything right for a game of its time. That feeling is the most important thing about it, and if they can't nail that... not good.

First and foremost... I want a new game. I'm always going to want a new entry over a return to a previous one, and doubly so when it comes to games I can play in the original form on the same console. I'm very pro ports, to put older games on modern consoles, but other than that, give me new stuff.

Alright... Time for the thing. The Legend of Zelda is my series. It's what got me into gaming, and in a lot of ways what keeps me in. OoT is the first game I got to finish, and one of the most important games ever made. I'm almost certain I'll play it. I'm just not super happy about it.

- Happy that Lies of P is getting a full port Overall, it was fine, as far as Nintendo Directs go; lots of stuff that didn't do it for me, but very happy for the fans (looking at you, Deltarune and Kingdom Hearts enjoyers)! As for the OoT remake... I have thoughts for another thread. 😮‍💨
