192 is a pretty low number, assuming this world has millions of sentient robots. Must have been one of the founders. How did it die, since robots can potentially last forever. Are all the "old ones" gone? Maybe there are no more humans in this world. Then who buried it? So many questions.

I was out walking and came across some kind of stone marker with "192" engraved on it. I assume it's just a fancy storm drain identifier or something, but it got me thinking. What if it's a future-world tombstone for a robot, designate "192".

DM tries their best to continue the story. There's a bunch of one-shots, hoping something will catch on. Nothing clicks. The players' new PCs are too close to their old ones. They can't let go. DM tries bringing back some old NPCs but it's just not the same. The magic is gone.

DM decides, fuck it. They want random bullshit and crazy highjinks, that's what they'll get. DM stops overplanning, just rolls with whatever nonsense the PCs come up with. New player joins. Tries being an edgy sorcerer, but quickly lightens up and joins the insanity.

Couple sessions later, long week, no plans other than bringing in the overpowered BBEG. DM is just making shit up right and left. Players are laughing their asses off. Final confrontation, BBEG with the Hammer of Death. Massive army arrayed behind. PCs don't have a chance. Time for them to flee.

DM plans on running a dark and gritty campaign, so all the session arcs are filled with danger and (heroic) realism. The campaign is really taking off, the players are loving it, but DM takes the gritty theme a bit too far one time (Dark World) and no one's really sure what to do after that.

I was looking at all the MCU movies with the kids and realized the whole thing is just a bunch of people in a D&D campaign. #dnd The DM starts the campaign by running some backstory sessions and setting up plot hooks that may or may not pay off later.

I went ahead and just purchased the adventure. Honestly, I was disappointed to see how much ai was used in the art and writing. So I don’t think I’ll be running it after all. Sounds like a great premise tho. If you redid it without the ai I’d give it another look.

The Lego set is much harder than it sounds. I bought a huge bin full of loose Lego from a coworker last year, with a pirate and a Ninjago set all mixed together. We’ve finished the pirate one and are now working through the other one.

This isn't a "roll on this magic fumble table when you get a 1" though. This is a way to reach beyond what you're normally capable of, paid in HP or exhaustion in the moment, and build towards something even greater. Could be a something like a lich for wizards, demigod for clerics, and so on.

I'm noodling on a system to layer on top of D&D's magic system to make it feel more like how I think of wizards of old, where powerful magic comes from drawing on a power deep inside yourself, or sometimes outside yourself. But there's a cost to drawing on this power.

I see it mostly as a waste of time. Spending time on things that aren’t in the immediate blast radius of the chaos goblins we call players is time that could used elsewhere. If you really wanted this stuff, funnel it into an NPC you think the players will talk to and let them spout some lore.
