While repairing my privacy dividers today, I saw this. I'm curious--did the kid who wrote 6,7 forever later cross it out? Or was it someone who was over it?

I'll be 50 in September and can't remember the last funeral I attended. A few friends have lost parents in the last fiveish years, but I have not attended the funerals. I did attend a memorial for one, but it was a more casual open house type event.

My parents (white and early 80s) probably attend a funeral a week at least. They’ve both lived in the same town their entire lives and are involved in church and the farming community. They joke funerals are their social life.

Lois Lowry has a new novel debuting in September! I enjoyed the pacing of the story, its connection to current events, and its emphasis on how stories and imagination build connections. I will definitely be adding a copy to my classroom! Thanks to NetGalley for the preview.

I don't follow anything sports related at all. But today, when I was leaving my knitting group, the bar across the street was packed with people watching the World Cup. It made me smile. I love seeing people excited about their things.

We do that in my district, and I love it so much. It gets me every time. I'm at a K-8 school, so the 8th graders also do it. Also tears.

We got ours done in one week, but it's 25% of staff over the last two years. Absolutely heartbreaking. We do have a local option levy on the ballot in May, but it's far from guaranteed.

I saw a preview and was legitimately boggled. They aren't blindfolded, so you can get at least a ballpark of their age just by looking. I know more people are having procedures to hide aging, but you can still tell.

I hate perfect attendance incentives. Hate. My school was doing something schoolwide when there were a certain number of days with overall attendance at 90% or 95%. Either it's not happening this year, or we haven't done it. It's a new leadership year.
