I am drunk on the black Irish poison. So I’m listening to Canadian country blues. #vinylsky #cowboyjunkies #statetrooper

#nowplaying #vinylsky #symphonicmetal I think this is now my favorite #Nightwish album. Or maybe I just really love Floor Jansen. Either way it’s barely left the record player in a week.

#vinylsky #nowplaying #folkrock I got a lot of seven #SteeleyeSpan records today. I am a happy little bug. Now playing Ten Man Mop, or Mr Reservoir Butler Rides Again

#book news! It’s finished. A new title and cover. “The Wrong side of Quiet,” a 550 page sci-fi teen noir. Second episode is available now. I’ll be releasing other episodes for free once I feel they’re ready. #booksky #mystery #specfic #noir fortunately77272bf15d.wordpress.com/2025/05/27/a...

#nowplaying #momma #alternativerock Welcome to my Blue Sky Favorite band of the decade so far. Might be my favorite band of the #90s too.

Ok so I am mostly a #vinyl nerd, specifically with #FairportConvention. I also got a #SandyDenny vinyl today so double whammy. #vinylsky #nowplaying

Oh yeah, kinda big news, or at least news. I’m not just a vinyl nerd and musician, I also write. I just finished draft 1 of my first solo novel and am now working on doing all the touch ups and stuff. This is a mock up of the cover. I don’t know if I’m going to keep this one yet.

#nowplaying #vinylsky #FairportConvention #folkrock Unhalfbricking I’ve been on a big kick for Fairport and Sandy Denny lately. Actually British folk rock in general, but I always keep coming back to Fairport.

New #vinyl rack. I ran completely out of space. Soundtracks, classical, and all of my Heino records were on different shelves so I needed a major upgrade. I have enough room now for another 50-100, not including my old cases. Oh and #nowplaying The Good the Bad and the Ugly soundtrack. #vinylsky

#nowplaying #vinylsky yesterday at the flea market one of the guys had a bunch of old #WaxTrax records, including this gem from #LucVanAcker.

#vinylsky #nowplaying #GordonLightfoot #folkmusic #greatlakes just want to point out how educational “The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” is. Not only do you learn about the shipwreck, but also the names of the lakes in order, the native word for Superior, and the best way to say “Detroit. ”

#vinylsky #nowplaying #verdi La Traviata #opera I got a lot of opera today. Another Verdi plus two Puccinis. Maybe more. My cases are full so it’s time to get another or to get a case with a lot of shelves.

#nowplaying #Donovan Mellow Yellow. #vinylsky #folkmusic Hell of a pull today at the flea market. Picked up a huge number of records for like 30 bucks. This is just one.

#485 is this little piece of #goth #filk wonder from #AurelioVoltaire. As a trekker there’s no way I could leave it off. I’m also fairly certain that Voltaire was the last person I opened for, aside from Lon Milo Duquette who shows up a little later on this list.

Coming in at 486 is Milliontown by British neoprog act #Frost*. There’s one or two stinker songs on here but the 30 minute long closing track more than makes up for any flaws in the rest of the record. Definitely one of my favorite prog records of the past 20 years. #500albums

And at #487 is Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie by #AlanisMorissette. I was way too cool to like Jagged Little Pill but this one actually grabbed me enough to keep listening to it. The first half is almost perfect. #500Records

Coming in at 488 is #DigitalFactor with Relationchips. This was a German #EBM that kinda got lost in a sea of similar acts coming out in the mid 90s but distinguished themselves with a lot of happy hardcore and electro/techno influences. #500records

Bottom 10 is all done. Now for the 480s, which we start with Swiss band #RämisSpontan ‘s 1998 live album “Live im Stockalper.” This record was one of my first intros to German language music that wasn’t stomp, slam, Schlager, scheiße, or Nena. Sadly out of print but it’s on YouTube. #500records

Coming in at #490 is Mondo Cane by the inimitable #MikePatton, which is a collection of Italian pop songs from the 50s and 60s. I was never a huge fan of Mr Patton’s other work but this one really showed his range. Aside from a few outliers most of these renditions are fairly faithful. #500albums

Aranmaybe @aranmaybe.bsky.social · 10/04/2025

At 491 is #janesaddiction with Ritual de lo Habitual. Three Days is still a beast and Stop has the best bridge in rock history. Plus Classic Girl is plain amazing. If it weren’t for that stupid been caught stealing song this would have ranked higher. #500albums

Ok going a bit normie for today with #thecranberries debut album at #492 out of #500albums. They would have stayed great if they kept making dream pop music but alas… anyway Dolores had an amazing voice and it fit this record perfectly.

At #493 is Nowhere by #ride, which is one of the records that got me into shoegaze back in like 91 or so. At the time it was just funky noise which I quite enjoyed. Labels came after the fact. #500records

#494 on my #500records list might sound like another fake band but I assure you they are real. New Improved Jook Savages with Krishna Fats and the Night Nurses with the album Radical Militant Vegetarians in Naziland. I had this on tape I got 3rd hand from a college radio station back in like 92.

At #495 isn’t a real record at all, but rather Awesome Album by #MouseRat, the fake band from #ParksandRec. The music was silly with a touch of an honest sincerity that if you didn’t know better you’d think it was real. Which again, it wasn’t. Fake band lol. #500records

Next up at #496 is Killball by Friends Forever, a noise band from Denver who played out of a VW microbus. This album doesn’t quite capture them but there’s a documentary out there that comes close. #500albums #noiserock
