Not all abusers are cis men My abuser ex is a cis woman. That cisnormativ, heteronormative framing about abusers erases the experiences of many LGBTQIA+ abuse survivors 🏳️‍🌈💜🏳️‍⚧️

I know we’re supposed to buy Canadian, but I want to give a shout out to Little Softs plush company in Delaware. I got this guy today. He’s actually a stuffed animal backpack, but I have removed his straps for the time being and decided to turn him into a plushy. I’ve had a lot of anxiety lately.

I have a professional development day tomorrow that’s going to last for more like three days. Getting ready to do a mini lesson on art curation. I’m not focussing on hate today. I need a break. So here’s a Jackalope in a hoodie.

let me strongly recommend the flu shot to whoever hasn't gotten one for this season. i just had a *terrible* bout with the flu that almost certainly would have been WAY worse had i not been vaccinated

This country has seen some bad moments in the 61 years, 5 months, 16 days I’ve been on this Earth. But it has never, ever before come close to the supertoxic level of stupidity, mendacity, narcissism, nihilism, and moral apathy that threaten to destroy it today.

I can’t deal so here’s a good boi on the subway. Pretty proud of this picture actually, framed right, beautiful, natural light, kinda looks like a Rockwell painting.

Hey folks, I’m removing all pictures of myself on social media. It might sound like I’m a bit paranoid, but with the state of the world and what I had to deal with over chat today, I’m not going to be posting pictures of myself in the future… thanks for understanding. This planet sucks right now.

This is Tux. He is the cutest black hole we have ever seen. And we thought you should see him too. 12/10

a solid black dachshund puppy sits on some white carpet and looks up at the camera. the pup’s fur and the photo’s contrast combine to make it impossible to see any distinguishing features of the puppy’s body; he’s just one little vantablack splotch in the middle of the frame. only his little brown eyes sparkle with a few reflections of the light around him.

Those dystopian books we read in school are looking less like fiction and more like a blueprint. No wonder they’re being banned—they want to keep us in the dark.

Antique dollhouse cat from my collection. Pictured on Francie for no particular reason at all.

Photo of my fluffy white cat Francie curled up asleep in my lap. On top of her a dollhouse miniature of a sleeping white cat on an orange and white tiny crocheted cushion has been very gently placed, the cat mimicking Francie’s coloring and sleeping position exactly.

We need your help. At Merrymac we have almost 100 bird friends so we’re obviously terrified by the spread of bird flu. We’ve been scrambling to get new procedures, equipment, and structures in place but it has been expensive. Can you donate to help us save our flock? donorbox.org/mmfs-protect...
