By 2029-2030 range you probably aren't running B100s so you probably rip and replace those shells. Same for B200s by 2032-2033

On top of the solar+battery storage gets cheaper on the ground so you have to compete against that and NVDA is changing its architecture every 2 years so you are chasing an endless launch cycle.

My personal view is that this is dumb from a tech perspective. Semiconductor are fragile and data centers have a ton of engineers working in them. If you want to fry a bunch of really expensive GPS and CPUs then have at it. But protection circuits don't really exist for them in space yet.

The answer is about 8000 engineers and about 40% being PHDs. You also need consistent cheap power which Texas has.

People. Can you guess how many engineers you need for a bleeding edge 2nm fab? What percentage of those are PHDs?

I still feel like this is undercounting. A lot of excess solar is stored up during the day and sold in the evenings. You can see that on the chart below. Texas has the largest Battery Storage in the US with over 22GW of capacity. You often see over 10GWs being fed back into the grid

Bloomberg has the world building 9TW of Solar over the next 10 years. Prices of solar decrease every year. Add in battery storage and all of this is moot.

Just remember this is why China can't get to 5nm chips. They don't have access to this tech. The AI revolution ticked off at 5nm. Every time you see a headline of China competing against the US in AI you can dismiss it simply because of this technology.

ARRM4 @ar-rm4.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Guys. This is click bait. The Chinese fabs don't have the right equipment to get to advance Lithography nodes. They can't get past 7nm. NVDA's B300 is on 2nm. There is no skipping nodes. Huawei is now 4 years behind. Their chips don't compete.

Intel fabs aren't suitable for massive increases in DRAM production. On top of that they need their capacity for high margin CPU for inference. If you are talking about a greenfield fab you won't see first wafers till 2030

It takes 5-10 years to build and can produce 1-1.5GW. The world will install 800GW of solar and 150GW of battery storage just this year. Projections by 2036 are an additional 9TW of solar. This tech is dead. Solar+battery storage is the cheapest form of industrial scale energy in human history.

Late, but only 12GW of AI data centers will be installed globally this year. The US grid is currently 1.3TW. The US is also installing 50GW of solar this year and 20GW of battery storage. Worldwide 800GW of solar and 150GW of battery storage in '26. AI is not the driving factor in energy prices.

I think you should wait a bit before watching Before Sunset. You kind of need to live with the Sunrise characters a bit before you meet up with them again. Each movie is a different stage of life and characters make different decisions at those times. Not always the best to watch back to back.

Vote early for 2 reasons: 1. Less or no lines 2. When you vote early you come off the Get Out to Vote rolls. That means two things: you no longer get hounded by campaigns to vote and they can focus their attention on lower propensity voters.

There are 4700 data centers in the US already totalling about 60GW. They were mostly built from 2000-2025. Where exactly is it there is not enough power? Also coal usage is flat since 2023.

Joey do you add battery storage into those numbers? I only ask because battery storage is adding over 10GW at times. Maybe they don't disclose it but Texas now has over 20GW of battery storage (+8 you)
