156,000 people moved to DFW metro last year. DFW will become the 3rd largest metro within the next 5-6 years

I still feel like this is undercounting. A lot of excess solar is stored up during the day and sold in the evenings. You can see that on the chart below. Texas has the largest Battery Storage in the US with over 22GW of capacity. You often see over 10GWs being fed back into the grid

I was pretty close on the first one but I don't shop at Costco so I'm only going off local fresh produce rates

There are 4700 data centers in the US already totalling about 60GW. They were mostly built from 2000-2025. Where exactly is it there is not enough power? Also coal usage is flat since 2023.

You are so close to getting it. Like right there. Solor generates that electricity. You see it buying excess solar during the midday and selling it in the evening.

Joey do you add battery storage into those numbers? I only ask because battery storage is adding over 10GW at times. Maybe they don't disclose it but Texas now has over 20GW of battery storage (+8 you)

OP's argument always reads pro-death to me. Waymo has 220m miles driven. 94% reduction of injuries, 82% reduction of air bag deployed, 93% fewer pedestrian crashes with injuries, 84% few cycle crashes. Yes they aren't zero but even a 82% reduction of 39k in the US and 1.1m globally would save lives

@volts.wtf off topic but I must have missed it recently when Texas crossed 20GW of Battery Storage, more than half their Solar capacity!

$787m to $11.5B YoY. That's a 6.8x YoY. Same CFO said the July ARR is $69-74B which would imply a $18B+ Q3.

Damn right it worked! In 2018 the EIA expected the US to have 40GW of battery storage by 2050. We passed that last year! In fact right now the US has over 50GW.

Again that was during Feb 2021 before the clean energy roll out began. Texas had a week long freeze in February this year and had no blackouts because of grid capacity.

Texas has the 8th largest economy in the world and has the 2nd highest capacity in the US (1st in battery storage with other 40% of the US capacity). Currently they have the largest queue of clean energy in the pipeline. Even the hottest days of the summer have more then 50% renewable energy.

In May 2018 the EIA estimated that by 2050 the US would have 40GW of battery storage capacity. The IRA was a game changer.

Update...over 71% solar today and 88% solar/wind/Nuclear. I'm guessing by 2027 you will have a day where it's 100%

This is about the best I've seen Texas where 92% of their grid was being powered by solar, wind, and Nuclear. Just to say solar was 3% of grid capacity in 2021, just 5 years ago.

Excuses. Oil capital of the US, Texas, was getting more than 50% of their power from solar on April 6th from 9am to 4pm. Wind and Nuclear helped make it more than 80% of the power for almost 8 hours. Solar was 3% of capacity in 2021.

The US because of the IRA has enough end to end capabilities to produce enough solar capacity internally each year. Oil capital Texas has 53% of its power coming from Solar right now. Capacity in 2021 was 3%. And dont say clouds or at night cause thats what wind power and battery storage is for.

Dumb. And extensively dumb. A plant would put off 500MW - 2GW. Yesterday China installed 2GW of solar. Today China will install 2GW of solar. Tomorrow China will install 2 GW of solar. All at cheaper prices and falling each year.
