Meet Crystal Robertson, University of California, Irvine Project Title: Saviors or Scapegoats: Black Women in the Democratic Party Crystal Robertson, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of political science at the University of California, Irvine. Before this she was a University of California President’s Postdoctoral Fellow. She earned her PhD at the University of California, Los Angeles with concentrations in American politics and race, ethnicity, and politics.

Congratulations to the 2026 APSA Organized Section Award Recipients (Sections 41-56)
In an effort to bring attention to exceptional scholarship, many of APSA Organized Sections have established awards. Currently there are more than 200 such awards honoring dissertations, papers, articles, books and career achievement. Winners are generally selected by member committees appointed by the chair or executive committee of the section. The organized section recognize winners at their annual business meetings, which are held in conjunction with the APSA Annual Meeting.
