APPEAL shares the concerns raised by Centre for Women's Justice about plans to increase sentencing for domestic homicides. The proposal risks deepening injustice for domestic abuse victims who kill their abuser and should be considered by the Law Commission.

Individuals who kill their partner or ex-partner in the home may become subject to a higher baseline starting point for sentencing, under new plans announced on 29 June by the Ministry of Justice.
